We walked into the restaurant the hostess greeted us, she was very pleasant, there were two people in front of us so, of course she sat them first and then she sat us, She told us to enjoy your meal and walked away.
About 10 minutes later our waitress came up to the table and told us she would be right with us. Once she got to us we gave her our order, you could tell she was very nervous, so I knew it was probably her first or second day maybe third. She was a very young Mexican girl. She didn't smile she did not greet us she just walked up to the table and asked if we were ready to order. She took our order, about 5 minutes later she brought us our soups and salads. She brought the wrong dressing on my salad which happens and I was okay with that once she brought me the correct one. And then our meals came and my friend had a ham and cheese croissant and I had a Mexican dish with a large burrito on it and chips. I do apologize, I wish I would have taken a picture, because I usually do. I assure you, our food was delicious. The waitress came and asked if our food was okay and we asked her to bring us boxes, she brought us boxes and bags. She gave us her check and walked away and came back a few minutes later offering us dessert with our food. You get ice cream or Jello or pudding with your order.
If you're ever in Hammond and hungry I definitely suggest stopping by here, you get a lot of food for your money!
And if you just happen to get a new waitress just remember everybody has to start somewhere and they are very nervous and give them a break don't be rude to them even if they don't smile or greet you, because they don't know how to walk up to a table correctly yet. Give them at least a month go back ask for that waitress and see how much she has improved and you will see the difference.
My advice to the young waitress if she is still there, is take one table at a time and always smile and check on your table more than once and greet them when you walk up to the table with that smile. And if you're not busy and you have tables start up a conversation with them get to know them that's how you build your clientele. I've been in this line of work before I know how hectic it could be especially at lunch time at a very busy restaurant. Will I return to this restaurant, most definitely! So take a chance if you've never been there you will not be dissatisfied, unless you're in a bad mood when you go in or you're an unhappy person. And we all know there's always someone like that everyday in the...
Read moreAlthough we rate the food, service and atmosphere 5 stars our overall rating is 3 stars due to questionable management. We have been weekly customers for about 3 or 4 years. About 1 year ago The Wheel implemented a reward points system. When you pay your bill, the bottom of your receipt will show points earned and show a dollar amount also. Thus 62 points = $6.20. These points are supposed to be redeemable on your next visit. The problem is when you attempt to do so they never match up to the amount showing on the previous receipt. We've pointed this out to Yosi the General Mgr several times and she has accomadated us but the last time she did this she also cleared out our accounts to start fresh. The problem is that my mother earned New points on our last visit where she paid. Since our accounts were cleared out this did not show up at the register but she brought her previous receipt showing new points earned and they added up to $15.00. The cashier was unable to honor my mother's points earned for redemption and called the mgr. on duty Jeff. He said he couldn't do anything and kept saying we're the only ones they have a problem with. I told him it's not our fault their system doesn't keep tabs on points properly. He was very condescending as he sarcastically kept saying we look forward to seeing all of you. I then reminded him he lie to us on a previous visit when the cashier checked our points without redeeming them. On that occasion he also said he couldn't do anything but tat we should remind him on the next visit and he would see to it that my mother gets her points redeemed. When my mother treated us 3 weeks later he claimed he never said that. This is when Yosi got involved and took off points accrued for my Mom but she reset all our accounts. The problem is that didn't take into account New Points earned. The whole crux of the problem is when a customer earns rewards points we Expect to be compensated regardless of the system not showing correct amounts. This is why we Never go to eat there without bringing our Previous receipts as Proof of our points earned. Any reputable restaurant should honor what they show you've earned without giving their customers a hard time. If their system isn't working they should just own up...

I do not know what is going on with this restaurant because it used to be a lot better.
Their food seems to be fine though I feel they have dropped quality within the last month I'm not really sure why.
Today though I was incredibly embarrassed I came in today with a friend that I haven't seen in a while and we were going to get some dinner together. Unfortunately we waited probably 20 minutes and no server, no water, no check-in. I had to go to the host and ask where our waiter or waitress was and they had no idea it almost looked like they didn't assign us to one The place was pretty much dead when it comes down to their normal volumes of people. Business is usually a little faster. We ended up walking out.... If they don't want to serve us then they're not getting our money.
My recommendation now I don't know what is going on with your guys restaurant but they're definitely is something that's new. Your staff kind of seems no offense they don't have a clue what's going on. Maybe some training or management needs to be retrained. Older review 4 out of 5
Their food is decent of course I have had better in my life but the atmosphere definitely makes up for it. I would say that their breakfast is definitely better than their lunch and dinner of course I haven't had everything on their menu generally I have had their omelettes and basic bacon with the eggs and pancakes. And if it comes down to dinner or lunch I've had there Patty melts as well as their hamburgers. For dinner I have had their fish and chips and chicken fingers. They're lemon rice soup to me is pretty lemony it's almost like they dropped 10,000 lemons in their soup kind of bland minus the lemon I feel they should be slightly more seasoned. But it still is a good place to eat especially for breakfast it is locally run so how do you say no to that...
