just got my plate back that i did a MONTH ago! yeah a month, because it took the lady forever to reach out to let me know that my piece was ready to pick up. not only did i wait a month, my plate does not look the same when i turned it in. there are literal dust particles encased in glaze and there’s a red dot on my bunny when i didn’t use a single swipe of red on my piece. the glaze that was provided was cheap, even though i was charged a “paint fee”. it’s a little ridiculous to include fees that should’ve been apart of the piece itself. i don’t mind paying fees if it meant i’m paying for better quality products that would help my piece look good. but it came out looking like garbage! paying almost $40 when my plate was $15 is daylight robbery. the fees are just unnecessary for the quality that was provided. customer service was subpar. my friend and i stood at the front for a while before someone acknowledged us. ding ding ding, you have customers! a lady eventually did help us but it felt like i came in with two clueless friends because she didn’t know where to begin. it was my first time going there and i had to ask about the paint fees that i happened to see just by looking around the shop because the lady didn’t seem like she was going to let us know. a month later, my friend had to reach out herself because neither her or i got a text message updating us on our pieces. she then emailed them the first time, no response, then a second time via phone call, and when she went in to pick it up, the same lady that “helped” us told her that she should’ve checked their facebook page for our pieces. WHAT THE WHAT! that’s a new method, never heard of that one before. long story short, don’t waste your time or your money here....
Read moreGenuinely so disappointed with my experience. I’ve painted and have had a few pieces glazed at another establishment that closed down and I was always pleased with how my pieces came out. This glaze is some of the cheapest glaze I’ve ever felt i can feel the actual groves of the brushstrokes when I should not be able to. I was told to just brush it over once it was dried when I know that to fire food grade pieces they have to be dipped into a proper glaze mind you this is still a $40+ plate/experience. The upcharges for every little thing was just ridiculous especially for such poor quality paint and brushes. You had to pay for the piece, the paint, special paint, and if you wanted it glazed… seriously? It has been 4-5 weeks since I had done my plate and no one ever reached out to me via message, call, or email and was told I was supposed to “check their Facebook” and that they messaged me when I never received anything. Overall severely unprofessional will definitely not...

The in-person experience at Gratefully Painted was wonderful ; cozy, creative, and relaxing. I brought a friend as a birthday gift, and we had a genuinely lovely time painting our ceramic trees. I left thinking I’d found a great local gem.
That changed completely when I called to confirm pickup. The woman on the phone was dismissive, argumentative, and talked to me like I was the problem for simply asking a question about attaching lights. Her tone was uncalled for and shockingly condescending.
UPDATE: an employee called to say that the coworker involved was fired. There’s no way to confirm if that’s true, but regardless, the damage is done. I no longer feel comfortable returning or even calling. Which is unfortunate, because this place truly has potential.
As a person of color, I’ve learned to recognize when an environment just isn’t worth my energy. Maybe I caught the bad end of the stick here, but take that...
