Been here before and had a good time it was a cool vibe, trivia and a good bar tender. This time we stopped in for a quick one and got Elise as the bartender. Downhill from there.
First...we were the only two black faces in the place. No problem...we don't care about those type of things but this time we got treated just like that.
Elise poured me a double that was smaller than single and swore it was a double. She insisted she poured twice and when asked to pour a single she said she was out of my liquor. The double was so short because she ran out, but instead of saying that she tried to act like we were crazy. Then she proceed to tell us if we had a problem we could go somewhere else....
We were like wow! To make matters worse she went to the end of the bar and started talking to the guys sitting there about us like we couldn't hear her and when she was called out she told us to leave even though we hadn't finished our drinks.
We told her to refund us and she gave us half what we paid and at that point there was so much tension, especially with her bf glaring at the side of my head, we just left.
Flat Rock....your Sunday bartender Elise, sucks and comes off prejudiced even if she's not. Maybe black business doesn't matter to you but if it does...she's not the...

Read moreVery nice, inviting and smoke free bar/restaurant. My friends and I went there for dinner after reading about the quality of the food in Shore Magazine. The food was excellent. However, the service left a lot to be desired. Once our food was served we never saw the waitress again. Her shift was over in the middle of our meal and no other wait staff took over. I brought our displeasure to the attention of the bar tender and was informed that it is a bar and they do not have traditional wait service. In our opinion if you are going to serve food part time wait service doesn't cut it. Especially when you start out with a waiter and then they disappear without being informed. The bartender was very, very helpful and should not have been put in that position. We had to go to the bar and ask for the check. We had a party of 5 and could have left without paying the check and no one would have known the difference until the receipts were balanced at the close of business. Great food but the management needs to pay attention to...
