Thursday 11/21 at around 6:15 I visited this store after calling prior asking if they can activate my device (an IPhoneXR unlocked) as I had lost my phone and happened to have a backup device. They stated sure, yes come in well check it out for you, but we should be able to. I was assisted by Karina. She was nice, however she was not honest. She reviewed the device, she saw it was unlocked, and assured me , we can put a new sim and you should be good. 👍 I paid, she put the sim in and even she noticed there was no cellular coverage, and no bars with the sim in. She took it out, put it back and made a call, she said, oh we’re good now. I pointed out hey the data still doesn’t seem to be active, she said oh it’s because you’re in the store. I left, trusted the rep and was able to make phone calls. However- the next day, I noticed the web wasn’t working and I couldn’t send I’messages. I initially called metro, we reset the network that did not work I called back, another person picked up I explained it’s not working, they’re response was well our hands are tied, the device may be too old and not compatible? The so of courseI’m livid, about them taking $65 bucks from me when they should’ve disclosed that the version of your device may not be compatible and we advice against it. They even went on to say, get another phone off Amazon . I maintained my composure but this was a terrible solution, they took my money knowing it wouldn’t work, and refused to provide a remedy. I will be canceling this phone plan. The data still doesn’t work. But I would’ve kept my money if I had be told truthfully it wouldn’t work. Disgusting, they did not hold themselves accountable.
UPDATE : The owners response was unsatisfactory, and the representatives told blatant lies. They did not inform me of anything- all you have to do is review the audio, video recording on your stores camera. I’m highly intelligent and I can recall exactly what was said to get my money. I will be filing a complaint with the FCC AS WELL as leaving a report on the BBB to have this...
