Great American Cookies — Local services in Northport

I was going to just leave one star and move on but this has been bugging me all day so I'll write out my bizarre experience here.

Came by the other day and asked for a cone with chocolate ice cream, Reece's pieces, and butterfinger bits. Instead of chopping it together on the slab, which I thought was the whole point of this place, the guy just scooped the ice cream into a cone and then started picking up individual Reece's pieces with his (gloved) hands and placing them onto the ice cream? Then he struggled to get the butterfinger bits on, so I told him it was fine if he did everything in a cup, thinking that it must just be how they do cones and that he would do the marble slab thing if I did it in a cup. Instead, he put a bunch of butterfinger pieces in a cup and gave it to me.

Then he didn't know how to work the register and had to get help with it. The whole time he was giggling and not really making any eye contact. I kind of thought the whole thing was a joke, but it apparently wasn't. I still have no idea what was going on and am very confused, but my best guess is this place really needs to invest in training...

Tonight was our 1st time trying this place-- and it was great!! I cannot imagine how there are so many bad reviews. I can only guess they have since gotten better employees, and have the new business running smoothly now. The space is big, cheerful, and inviting. My 8-year old daughter LOVED it, said it was "the best ice cream ever," and she wants to paint something the color of their chairs. Crystal helped us, and she was so friendly-- offering tastes of ice cream before making a decision. There are many flavors and toppings, and it was a fun experience! We also looked at their big book of cookie designs for an upcoming birthday. I had no idea there were endless possibilities for festive cookie decorating. They even have ice cream cakes. If you haven't been in, please go! This is a really nice addition for Northport. If you went early on and had a bad experience-- please give them another chance and try again. Highly...

I was sitting outside looking at them, passing the phone around, then decided to press the answer button and then hang up without answering. Not cool. I called right back. They decided to answer this time. I explained my situation. I was told yes, the ice cream maker has not solidified, so all the ice cream is very soupy and runny. I also informed that I didn't get any nuts. I was told we're out. I asked why wasn't I made aware of why I was sitting for 10 minutes. I got we are sorry I can give you a refund. But I have to sit in the drive-through line again. At this point, there are eight vehicles in front of me. I was not about to sit for another 10 minutes. I just drink the milk. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a Marble Slab. For the price I paid for milk in a stale bowl I could have just went to Walmart and bought a half gallon...
