Penny's Eastern Freeway Lanes — Local services in Northwood

Seems a lot of posts and reviews have been Removed. This is not a safe place to take children!!! I am a parent in the Oregon school system and our family were regular customers until: Penny Jo herself decided to be engaged to a Registered sex offender that did more than 12 years for his horrendous crimes. On top of that, he was allowed to drive these school children from schools to the bowling alley. Well one day, the sicko couldn't keep it in his pants and exposed himself to school children on the bus. I only know this because the school sent home a very vague letter staying that an "incident" had happened. That was the incident and it all came out. She is a liar and a disgusting person to knowingly ly with a man that has harmed children!! The community should shun her. On top of all of that, I get a letter from the school that they're still affiliated with Eastern Lanes for the after school program with a HUGE disclaimer about background checks at the bottom....

The place itself is enjoyable and a good establishment for small buisness bowling, but they don’t advertise well enough that they have leagues at 5. We rented two games at 3, while they were busy with only two lanes open, they didn’t mention the league times starting while ringing out, and didn’t tell us what time we needed to be gone by. At 445 the manager/employee approaches me and tells me we have to “hurry it up” because leagues come in at 5 and if we don’t finish our game by the time they oil the lanes, we won’t be able to finish our game. It was unprofessional, and we had just paid 60$ for two games and shoes, and now we can’t finish our game because of leagues despite being paying customers. Not only that, the lane was constantly breaking and letting our pins not be fixed, which caused our game to slow even more. Overall, the establishment isn’t bad, but leagues and bowling times should be more established and shown rather than being just a piece of...

It’s a decent bowling alley (like not run down) but the owner is VERY VERY RUDE AND NO ONE WILL HELP YOU even if you made eye contact a few times. The first occasion was she made us and another family move a table over to make sure everything was even. That wasn’t a huge deal just that she was kinda mean but then my husband went into the bar and asked for a bucket of beer and the owner kept asking in a snarky way “ what do you mean? What do you mean”? And my husband had to point to people at the tables and said “ there are people with buckets of beer ...like those on the tables”. Another time, a blonde older waitress looked at and rolled her eyes and we were just standing there, out of everyone’s way. Just not friendly at all and all have that older grumpy demeanor. It makes me not want to come back because of that. Also, if you’re looking at price on a Saturday with shoe rentals, 4 people, and 2 games...
