we were passing through Connecticut when we decided to have dinner we googled for a Salvadoran restaurant we decided on the chele after reading the comments the place is fine we decided to order some carne azada while we waited we decided to add some chips to the order because they didn't even give us that while We waited, they brought us a plate with 10 chips, no matter what I was paying for them, I expected a reasonable portion, but it wasn't like that. They put the chimol on top of the carne azada not everyone like the chimol also the horchata is not good it was simple what a bad experience in our visit last thing if you do not have cash you have...

Not really authentic El Salvadorian food in many ways, but El Chele does incorporate many of the authentic elements and attempts to create new versions of traditional dishes. For example, in their pupusas, the cheese tastes like mozzarella and does not have the sharprness or prevalent curds like you get in El Salvador. However, the execution was pretty good with the ingredients used. Another example is the yuca and chicharron which is very good, but the chicharron is deep fried instead of braised. Also, I thought the curtido and tomato sauce was bland. Ambiance is nice and service was good although the waitress had a difficult time...

Order pupusas to go and as true salvadorean me and wife can tell these were pupusas that were prepare before put them and the freezer and cook them as they go, they were not make to order as they should be and since we experienced this before we asked before we placed the order if this was the case and the lady that took our order said that they make on the spot as you order...lie...unfortunately after this experience we are not coming back and we definitely won’t recommend it.
