I've been a customer of this store for 5+ years and the service has been amazing. Always courtesy and attentive when available. Recently they started holding Pokemon tournaments and that made a lot of people joyful because they gained more customers. The employees at the store are great as well. I don't interact with all the employees, however there are three people I want to acknowledge for their excellence in service with the customers as well as helping out with the tournaments. Just a F.Y.I., i don't know the full names of these employees. First person I'll be thanking is Matt. He is probably the hardest working employee when it comes to the Pokemon tournament prize structure as well as tournament management. Also he always interacts with the customers and makes sure the consumer is satisfied. Second is the newest person I met and he goes by Santana. He also helps with Pokemon, but his knowledge on other card games makes him valuable to Skybox. He one of the go to people for Pokemon. The last person I want to acknowledge is Anthony who honestly helped me personally the most. He helped me not just with product selection, but also event registration as well many more. He's probably the main person I need to thank for a lot of my great pulls from the product I've bought. Overall I like this store not just because it has Pokemon tournaments, it has great deals that match the market value as well as same day pickup if you purchase through the...
Read moreI've been going to Skybox on and off for the last year and a half or so, and I have to say, if you're a collector or a TCG player, or even someone who's just getting into the hobby, this is easily the best local TCG store in the area, possibly in CT. What makes this place particularly special is it's staff. The employees are all top-notch, knowledgeable, warm and inviting, and clearly happy to help in any way they can. It's the most inviting place to buy and play with cardboard that I've ever come across, and it's all because of the guys behind the counter like Matt, Anthony and Santana. Matt in particular is not only a wealth of knowledge, but kind, professional, and always engaged and focused on taking care of customers. I've seen him make multiple kid's (and adult's!) days simply because he is genuinely happy to have them in the store having fun, talking sports, playing MTG or Pokemon (or helping them convince their parents to get them a card or pack they really want lol).
Skybox is a special place, and it is fully because of incredible employees, who clearly do their best to make it that way. Highly recommend, and hope to see you there for commander night or a...
Read moreHad a terrible time getting my cards looked at here. Originally came in and was told they only take appointments: fair enough. Asked for an appointment and was told I could only sign up with a QR code. When I asked since I was here if he could sign me up he said no.
Fine, I made an appointment with the QR code. Then when I come for my appointment in they have nobody to look at my stuff. Eventually after waiting around for ten to fifteen minutes one if the employees comes over.
I try talking to him but there isn't much reaction. He literally walks away from me 8 times during the session to sell cards and talk to other customers. I felt ignored through the whole process.
Eventually I was quoted a tiny price ($25) for the cards I was bringing in, magic cards, and I left. I took the same cards to Battlegrounds which is on the same street. They treated me like a valued customer spoke to me like a human and I sold my cards for $120.
I will not be...
