Hands down, Wave Hill makes the best bread in Connecticut. Their loaves are beautiful, and clearly made with a lot of time, and care. Pick up a loaf to go, use it at home, and you can't do any better.
Their sweet baked goods are, for me, where things fall down a little. I haven't tried everything on offer (obviously) but nothing I've ever eaten has absolutely wowed me. Nothing is bad, or even in the region of bad, it's just often a little forgettable. Especially when compared to the bread.
The coffee is very good. Not fantastic, but very good. It's reliable. And some of their latte creations are interesting.
Service has always been friendly, and efficient, and the atmosphere is fine for what it is -- this isn't a cozy joint, but there's tables and chairs, and it's friendly.
If you're in Southern CT, make a pilgrimage for a loaf or two. If you're in Fairfield county, you could do much worse for your regular coffee place. Extremely solid spot, that could be...
Read moreEven though I am giving here two stars, I still love this bakery. Their baked goods especially the bread is outstanding, truly outstanding. It is heartbreaking how an associate, who lacks an ability to accommodate a customer, can hurt the business. Today I purchased a surprise bag of this bakery, and I have done so numerous times; When I realized that I won’t make it within the pickup window I called the bakery and asked an associate to keep my bag with my name on it and I would pick it up tomorrow early morning. I did the same in the past in other town’s bakery, they accommodated my request and it worked just fine. Unfortunately, Wave Hill Bakery’s associate refused to do so. This really broke my heart, did not expect it. I don’t think I’m gonna buy anything there anymore. It only takes one negative experience. I hope, the owner reads this feedback and will re-train and educate associates...
Read moreWave Hill Breads is an absolute gem for anyone who appreciates high-quality, artisanal baked goods. Their bread alone is worth the visit—especially the focaccia and sourdough, which are both outstanding in flavor and texture. The sourdough has the perfect balance of tang and chew, while the focaccia is beautifully soft with a crisp, golden crust.
Their sandwiches are fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and made with the kind of bread that takes things to the next level. If you’re a fan of Roman-style pizza, you’re in for a treat. It’s light, airy, and always incredibly fresh, making it hard not to go back for more.
Don’t skip the pastry case either. Their cannolis are crisp and filled to order, and the macaroons are absolutely delightful—chewy, rich, and perfectly sweet.
Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or picking up goodies for home, Wave Hill Breads delivers every time....
