Kealohi Surf — Local services in Oʻahu

My wife and I just finished our nighttime SUP tour with Kealohi Surf. She had been lamenting not going SUPping with me - being in the sun or the heat are not my favorite things, so SUP is pretty low on my list of daytime activities - when we saw a flyer for nighttime paddle boarding, and I am so glad we took the chance and booked!

It was my first time, and the guides did a thorough technique and safety briefing. It was a pretty small group - 5 newbies, my wife who’s done it a few times, and two guides. The guides helped teach everyone who wanted to how to go from sitting to kneeling to standing, and while most of us got a bit wet, all of us had a blast. They kept an eye on us, too, and gently provided advice on how to do things better.

We saw lots of fish, of course, but we also saw a ton of turtles of all sizes, and the stars were beautiful.

We went this past weekend and had so much fun! We took our 5 year old and he was able to sit with me on my paddle board, but the guide also offered to sit him on his paddle board if it made me nervous. Our tour guides were Slade and Dustin, and they were great! We were able to see some turtles, including one that went directly under our board and hit us lol (a little scary at first as I thought we were going to tip, but also cool to have that kind of close up interaction). It was also just peaceful to paddle on the river at night. They offer waterproof phone cases to borrow as well in case you don't have one to take pics. I really enjoyed this tour. We originally had the bay paddle board but it was canceled. Our guide was very accommodating and took us out to the rainbow bridge river tour for the same price we paid for our original tour. He is very knowledgeable and does a great job making you feel comfortable on the paddle board. It was our first time paddle boarding and I like it so much I am thinking of taking it up as my new hobby here at home. We saw some turtles on our tour which was wonderful. I highly recommend these tours regardless of your experience on a paddle board. Next time I am out in Hawaii I’ll probably do it again. Great company, great...
