Review update: Ever since I moved to O'Fallon, Desi Market has been my go-to for delicious Pakistani cuisine and groceries. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The owners, a lovely husband and wife team, are incredibly welcoming and accommodating, making you feel right at home.
For those seeking halal meat, their butcher section is top-notch. I've been consistently impressed with the quality and freshness. They make sure that I always get the freshest meat and guide me accordingly. But the real stars of the show are their cooked dishes. The goat biryani, veggie biryani and chicken biryani are both bursting with flavor, perfectly spiced, and generously portioned – ideal for my big family. The rice is fragrant, and the meat is tender and delicious. They also accommodate flavors to your liking too so do not hesitate to ask.
We love their kofta curry and gola kabab curry, both of which were absolutely divine. The kofta is melt-in-your-mouth soft, and the gola kabab is perfectly seasoned and cooked. The gravies are rich and flavorful, complementing the dishes perfectly.
Their frozen made to order selection is a lifesaver for busy weeknights. The samosas, shami kababs and chapli kebabs are excellent, and I appreciate the variety of Indian/Pakistani vegetables available for daily cooking. The lady who runs the store is incredibly helpful can cook regular vegetables dishes for you as per request. Their chicken 65 is Aaahmazing!!
What truly sets this store apart is the exceptional service. The owners are genuinely kind and helpful. They go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant shopping experience. It's refreshing to find a local store with such a personal touch.

Read moreMy experience is not that pleasant. Its just not only about the stuffs available there.. its ok for indian or pakistani grocery. But the behaviour is or not up to the mark. At least he can be nice and pleasant to indians if he claims himself to be indian. He ( the shop owner) accepts only cash for sny purchase less than 10 dollar snd won't accept any other payment method. It does not seem to be so nice deal. People won't carry cash everytime. This shop also don't have varieties of things and stuffs are limited. So people will have hard time to choose more things for groceries. They also don't keep vegetables unlike other Indian stores here. Not a good option for vegetarians. I will recommend other indian stores rather then this place. I visited other stores like krishnaveni and spice bazaar and the way they serve customers, I will love to visit them again and again. I want to givd a feedback for this store.. "Please give good customer service" which is a very...
