BEWARE of the employee Austin. He has HORRIBLE customer service. A few weeks back my mom had called the store to ask what time they took items until. The woman on the phone stated that they took items until 5 o’clock that day and my mom said OK great I will be there around two to drop off. She went in with her items at 2 o’clock and Austin behind the counter said we never take anything around that time. It’s always been the same time. She mentioned he was not pleasant about it but more acted like she made the mistake and they did not. She let it go. She came in another time and she could hear him chitchatting with someone else very negatively. She let it go. We went in today with her items to drop off, keep in mind she’s been a customer of graces for a very very long time, and long and behold there’s Mr. Austin. He “attempted” to be nice by telling us I can tell you right now you cannot bring two bags of shoes. He said this because my mom had two boxes of household items coming in already. My mom was under the impression she could bring in shoes as clothes but he told her no. OK if that was our mistake it was our mistake but I didn’t like his attitude problem and with us coming in countless times and having negative experiences with the way the employees talk with one another when they think people are not listening and how his non-approachable attitude is, I finally said something. I told him your whole staff needs to be on the same page. He started yelling at me telling me that it’s on the sign, it’s on the website, it’s on the recording, I don’t need to hold your hand! I’m 35 years old with three children no one’s holding my hand. I’m an adult and I know what I’m doing. My mom mentioned to him, because she was frustrated with how he was talking to me, that she will call and just talk to Grace herself about the incident. He said “go ahead and call Grace!” Really rudely, almost like he feels Grace is not gonna care about the way he treated us. I really feel like he needs to take a step back and relearn customer service. He is not approachable and you can tell he thinks he’s always Mr. Right. Needless to say my mom is closing her account down along with a couple other family members. We also mentioned it to a couple of friends who are religious weekly shoppers there and they are no longer supporting graces. If you as a customer would continue to like to go there (because yes they do have great deals, I agree) I would suggest if you ever need help do NOT...

The best consignment shop, probably in the whole Midwest, if not country. They have 25,000 consignors and run the business so very WELL!!! Now have 2 stores!!! One in Washington, MO now too, run by none other than the amazing, charming, and funny as heck, Jacob.

You don't have to take your un-needed things back, they donate what they can't use to a very good charity for you. They are more than willing to talk to you about the rules/guidelines/anything for as long as you need. AKA: they obviously want you to be as educated on what they take and what they don't take as you want to be educated on the matter!!!!! I'm sure it takes them a lot of time to go through so many things, so just call and ask, they rather you bring in sellable items!!! You'll never encounter such a great staff as the one at merry-go-round!!! Especially the manager Jami, all drop room staff members (work their tails off and are so great at what they have to do, even under pressure of extreme busy days), Lori who does all the amazing displays, and Teresa, who works at night are also the best!!!

The store owner, Grace, is the nicest woman I have ever meant. She definately knows what she is doing after near 40 years of being in this business too! It takes a lot of trust building up overtime to make a business like this run strong for so long, so I trust her indefinitely with my things.

Many people just do NOT understand how consignment works. It's a great way to make money, but you gotta take a little extra care, as compared to a garage sale. I've made a lot of extra money here by bringing my clothes wrinkle free and fresh and decor and kitchen stuff all cleaned up. We recently had a very negative experience as a consignor at Grace’s. Specifically, we dropped off approximately 35+ clothing items, all in compliance with the stringent consignment rules (on hangers, non-wrinkled, in season, good quality and condition, top brand names, consignor number attached, etc.) In fact, several of the items were new with tags. After dropping the items off, we visited the store multiple times during the next week, and only located 1 of the 35+ items for sale on the floor. As very minimal proceeds were added to our account during the week, we inquired with the employee working the consignment area about the status of our “missing” consignment items. The employee could provide no reasonable explanation, and became dismissive when it was clear something was amiss. Unfortunately the consignment process at Grace’s is conducted under a cloak of darkness and secrecy (after drop off consignors are not informed what consignment items are accepted, and what items are deemed “non-compliant” and thus “donated.”) No reconciliation or accounting process exists (no controls). This questionable, unprofessional business practice / lack of transparency results in no accountability regarding the business’ stewardship of consignors’ property. In an effort to gain a better understanding of what may have happened to our items while in Grace’s possession, we consulted the reviews on this platform and others (Yelp, Better Business Bureau, etc.). Turns out our experience is not an anomaly. Consignors, customers, and employees alike have documented very serious concerns about this company, including major complaints and issues specific to the consignment process.
