One of the best vacays with my family had to include a daily workout! We enjoyed and were consistent working out at B Strong Fitness, 29 Kennebec Avenue, Oak Bluffs.
B Strong's cardio was sufficient including treadmills, stationary bikes, elliptical trainers and TV displays. Workout area consisted of free weights including dumbbells, barbells and exercise machines. Sufficient mirrors for my sisters and I to maintain correct posture during our workout.
No pool at B Strong. No worries. We were a stones throw away from the beautiful, warm States Beach and the Ink Well : )
B Strong does not offer group exercise classes, that I am aware of, however we received great instruction and training advice from Heather Neal. Every day we worked out Heather offered high intensity strength training and athletic conditioning programs. She trained our muscles with a sledge pull...soreness....LOVED it!
B Strong was a clean, healthy, motivating environment. Offered a variety of branded t-shirts. No sauna or wellness areas, but a big welcoming smile.

Read moreThis gym is excellent. Spit and sawdust, with everything you need with no bullshit! I am an intermediate lifter and have been lifting for several years. I had the pleasure of training with the owner, Craig, 3x a week for a month. He was very adaptive, given this isn't how he normally trains clients (e.g. I came in with my own 10,000 foot goals and splits from my usual trainer). Craig is super smart and knowledgeable, and worked in all kinds of stuff I'd never tried and also dialed in on some imbalances and deficiencies that my usual trainer and I have been glossing over/gotten lazy about. I had two micro injuries while training— one just before arrival involving a 75+ lb checked bag my wife packed, which irritated a face joint and caused soft tissue spasms and lockup around my L1; the second, an irritated bicep tendon from surfing and e-foiling. Craig helped me work through both in a way that had me back out and active in no time while not slacking off during our sessions in the gym. Five stars all...
Read moreThis is my second summer patronizing B Strong. I appreciate that they have different membership levels that work well for visitors from a day pass to 3-day pass to a 3-week pass. Last year, I did the 1- week pass and this year I am utilizing the 2-week pass. I paid online and they texted me a code for the door, so I can get in when they are not staffed. It is not a 24-hour facility but the hours are long enough to make it a flexible option when visiting Martha's Vineyard. They have a variety of equipment including barbells, squat racks, plyometric boxes, weight machines, dumbbells, kettlebells, and cardio equipment in a clean and functional environment.
