Basics Clothing Company — Local services in Oak Bluffs

I went in to the store after Tivoli day in August. It’s a really nice store with a variety of different styles of clothes for men and women. I went in because I saw some Teva sandals on sale Tivoli day and they still had them on sale which was great. There were two employees there and they were both very friendly and very attentive to what I was looking for. items that were on sale on Tivoli day that I was looking for were still there and they were half price, which was great! I not only found the Teva sandals I was looking for, but also because they had a good selection of other flip-flops, was able to try out a pair of Oofos slides and those were great! I’m so glad that they had my size in stock and glad I was able to compare them to the other brands. The Oofos Sport Flex slides were so much more comfortable than the Adidas or Under Armor versions. They were definitely worth the extra price, but they were on sale so I actually paid 50% off the regular price. I use them indoors because I have hardwood floors and it takes a toll on the bottom of my feet and my joints. Very nice store and will be shopping there again in the future!

Just to note some people complain about some of the prices here on the Vineyard but the regular price I see for the Oofos slides is the same as the price if you order them direct from Oofos. * But I paid 1/2 price because these were on sale! Also coming to the vineyard, the prices of things reflect some of the transportation costs. It’s not like walking into a Walmart on the mainland and that has to be considered when shopping...

I spotted some unique pieces, but many of the standard items were overpriced. For example, they had exact Carhartt men’s shorts that are nearly $20 cheaper on Amazon. The kids’ section was filled with low-quality items, likely from overseas, sold at high prices as well. The highlights were some staple pieces I haven’t seen elsewhere and the brand-name sneakers.
