Harbor Freight — Local services in Oak Harbor

I had a deeply disappointing experience at the Harbor Freight in Oak Harbor, WA. After a mechanical failure nearly caused my car to drift off the road, I moved it to their parking lot—choosing Harbor Freight specifically because I needed tools to fix the issue. I spent hundreds of dollars there trying to repair a torn-apart wheel bearing.

Despite parking respectfully in the back of the lot and working diligently to fix the car, the manager, Tim, approached me and told me I had 24 hours to move the vehicle or it would be towed. He didn’t ask if I was okay, didn’t offer help, and interrupted me when I tried to explain the situation. His response felt cold and dismissive, especially considering I was actively spending money at the store and trying to do the responsible thing.

I wasn’t loitering or causing any disruption—just trying to fix a dangerous issue safely. Harbor Freight should treat customers with more empathy, especially those in distress who are supporting...

They don't like to sell anything they have to lift. Even when offered help or to do it myself they refused to sell the item. The manager waddled from her office just to tell me "it wasn't going to happen tonight". I tried to explain I had been to 3 different stores in total now and none of them had it except for this store. My trip of 2 hrs stretching 3 counties was all for not. This store needs to figure out how to staff with people who can lift the items or enough people that they can do a proper team lift. All in all a terrible experience and I will not visit this store ever again! Would give negative stars if I could for the mere fact I tried to leave and the manager had to get the last word which ended in me...

I drive semi, had a delivery appointment due to this location Dec 8, 2021 at 0600. I had shown up well before the appointment time. Couple minutes after 0600, I rang doorbell at delivery dock, no answer. I walk around front of retail store, see one car in the parking lot, lights on inside but nobody in there. Acquired phone number via online, called many times with no answer as well as no message leaving capabilities.

At the time of this writing, it’s almost quarter til 7 and still nobody here. It had been confirmed an appointed time! I’m genuinely beyond disappointed with their professionalism and I cannot leave less...
