FILONI — Local services in Oak Park

I do not want to tell anybody not to shop here. They have a good selection of curated unique fashions at moderate to higher end price points. That is why I have shopped here in the past. However, this past weekend, I was there and being helped by a lovely salesperson. I had 2 pair of pants to try on, which combined probably cost about $400. The salesperson apologized for the 2 usual dressing rooms being full and asked if I minded using a 3rd one that is used for storage, so had some boxes in it. I didn't mind at all and was glad to not have to wait. There was also a table in there that she quickly moved out. At that point the owner ran over and started to berate the saleswoman about never moving things from the dressing room. This was not a quiet reminder about policy. This was full out yelling, bordering on abuse. I tried on the pants and liked them both. As I left the dressing room, the lovely salesperson asked if I liked them. I said that I liked both but wouldn't be buying them because the owner had been so rude to her. She said it was fine and she would be happy to write up the sale. I apologized to her for not wanting to pursue it further, and I left. I have waited to write this review until I was sure I wasn't just emotionally reacting to something that I would later realize was not that big of deal. While the prices are quite high, almost everything I’ve bought at Filoni’s has lasted a decade or more. I get so many compliments on my Filoni pieces. The sales people are very helpful. They do not try to convince you that something looks good if it doesn’t.

My rules for shopping are: the clothing has to fit. It has to look good on me. It has to be comfortable. And I have to like it. It must meet 4 out of 4 rules.
