If you have not taken a barre class here — I HIGHLY recommend you try one! I am so, so happy to have NB in Oak Ridge. This studio and community have been such a joy to be a part of. The studio itself is really clean & the instructors are incredibly diligent about class participants wiping down their equipment after class (on top of the additional cleaning the studio does). The instructors are so sweet, encouraging, upbeat, and motivating. I have taken a class with just about every, if not every, instructor there & they all kick my butt & provide a great workout. The instructors are also great about providing modifications — so there’s no pressure to “do what everyone else is doing” if it doesn’t feel right for you/your body. On top of it all, the instructors are extremely knowledgable and always available for questions before or after class to help ensure you get not only a great workout, but a safe one, too. Read moreI tried my first barre class in May and have been hooked ever since. The studio has a warm, inviting vibe, which made me feel comfortable right away. The instructors are knowledgeable, encouraging and friendly. The class was a mix of ballet, Pilates, and yoga, which kept it fun and challenging for me. I was surprised how fast the class went by as you are strength building and stretching without being overwhelmed. I appreciate everyone was at a different skill level, so it didn’t feel competitive; it was more about personal progression. I left feeling accomplished, but also relaxed, which is a nice balance. I have been attending for several weeks and have really noticed the improvement in my strength and muscles that I don't get from cardio or resistance training.
