Mediterranean Delight — Restaurant in Oak Ridge

Truly a hidden gem rather tucked away from the main road. Not really difficult to navigate to though. Simply turn in by the Ambulatory building, drive past the right side of that building and you are there. See, my philosophy about restaurants is the smaller and unassuming the restaurant appears, the better the food. And this absolutely holds true for Mediterranean Delight. There is a little something for everyone here. Gluten free and vegan options are available. There are many different meat selections offered and they also serve salmon. I thoroughly enjoy and recommend the falafel wrap. Very accommodating for making food how you want it made. I love my falafel with cucumbers substituting the tomato. Oh and the baklava?...

Original Zomato review 2/7/15 - GOOD FOOD -- GREAT OWNER. We stopped by there this afternoon to try the Mediterranean cuisine--it's a bit hard to find, but the food is good. I had the chicken shawarma plate with Greek salad. The shawarma is flavored well over rice. The Greek salad is...Greek salad--the olives were still pitted, so be careful before biting down. The wife's hummus was some of the best I've eaten and the baba ghanoush has a great smoky eggplant flavor--extremely with pita.

4.5 stars on Yelp. My wife & I tried it 2 nights ago. I was a little disappointed. We had a lamb shawarma plate, vegitarian plate, and moussaka plate. The falafal was slightly better than average (but I was hoping for more), the hummus was disappointing, the shawarma...meh, the moussaka was really tasty but a bit too greasy. The pistachio cookie was ok, and the date cookie was tasty. I am spoiled, a Jordanian friend in NYC takes me to his fav place in Yonkers whenever I am in town for work.
