On my way to a doctor's appointment I was planning on stopping at publix for a salad when I missed the light to turn at and had to make a U turn at the next street. I realized I wad right by Living Green which I have meant to stop in to for forever. I took it as a sign and stopped in. Boy was that am amassing decision!
This stop is located in the East Commercial Plaza right next to the farm store. It is quite small in comparison to Fresh Market or Whole foods but don't let that deter you! Half of the space is a market with fresh fruits and veggies, frozen organic meat, organic and raw dairy, and wine. LOTS of wine 😉. The other half is the prepared food deli area.
I stopped in for the Red Stilleto Juice (celery, beet, lemon, ginger, carrot and cucumber) and the Tuna es Crazy wrap (tuna, quinoa, Greek yogurt, red cabbage, kale, onions, and more). Everything is premade so they heat it up for you but they make the juice fresh.
The juice was very refreshing and priced similar to other juice bars ($5.95). It was mostly celery and beet. I didn't get much of the ginger coming through at all. The wrap was excellent. Crunchy cabbage, moist tuna, perfectly toasted wrap and the quinoa was an pleasant addition. I also got 2 individual cups of their in house hummus (beet & goat cheese and olive walnut) to try. Total, I paid about $19 for everything. Not to bad.
There's plenty of seating inside and out. Outside has umbrellas to keep you cool. You can also order ahead which would be quite convenient.
Overall, this was a great stop and I'm happy I finally...
Read moreThe ambiance of the market is nice. Walking into the place you would expect to find fresh organic produce and fruit choices as well as great customer service. However, the produce is not organic but is still priced as if it were. The food choices are great until you learn that it is cooked in unhealthy cheap canola oil vs olive or avocado oil for the health conscious. The fruit/acai bowls are premade and are not fresh. The bowls sit in a freezer until someone places an order and unfortunately the taste of the freezer will accompany the your overpriced bowl. Also, you must be very careful when you chew because often times it won't be well blended and you may encounter ice chunks. This is definitely a lawsuit waiting to happen. The wraps are also not made fresh daily which is disgusting when you consider the possibility of flies. The baklava is overpriced, doesn't have enough nuts, it's too sweet, and again with the refrigerator taste! The taste of refrigerator is disgusting and can really make you feel taken advantage of when the average payout is $60 for barely anything. This place makes a lot of money and has loyal customers. I have been loyal to them for too long. I guess it's the convenience. I'm questioning this and honestly can't come up with an answer because there are several better choices out there. Honestly, they need to tighten things up. I'm very disappointed to have to write...
Read moreDon’t be fooled by the beautiful Store. Check what you buy there because they served me very old turkey and extremely old Swiss cheese on a rock hard croissant. I chose it from the case and the girl asked me if I wanted to cut and I said yes, she put it in the food box in a paper bag and then handed it to me. I paid nine dollars for a sandwich that was old. The meat was rotten and she knew it because she cut the sandwich and then put it in a box would serve something like this look at the pictures, this was lunch for my husband, when I opened the bag up after I got to his place of business the entire room smelled like rotten food. I asked to see the sandwich and realize that everything was really old. I called them up. They were rather rude when I told them the condition of my food. I returned back to the store. I opened the container and showed them the food. I showed the girl that cut the food in half Asked her if she would eat that and she shook her head no behind the counter at the time and all three of them saw the food. All they wanted to do was just say here’s your money back and get me out the door before anyone heard or saw what was going on. if you eat here, check your food before...
