Dollar General — Local services in Oakland

Only one self check out open and was told it was because they were closing in five minutes. (Since when do they close at 8:35) Staff wouldn’t check anyone out who was paying with card. Was told we needed to be IDed for age. All we had rung in at that point was crackers (and we were buying cookies crackers, candy, a frozen meal, and gift wrap. Not sure why any of that needed age verification). Won’t be back because I am not waiting that long when they can’t be bothered to check out people who are paying with card and don’t have more than one self checkout open. I'm sure it is corporate and not this specific location..but the decision to downsize staff, have only ONE manned register and 4 self service ones..that were very soon after closed due to Dollar General experiencing more theft with self serve registers..Have they replaced self serve back to people? NO they have not..ONE register and the aisles are all packed with uncompleted shelving and products everywhere that have not Bern put away..oh yeah, NO people to stock!!
