The Groom Room Barbershop — Local services in Oakland

In my first week in Oakland, I looked up this barbershop and decided to book an appointment. I called the day before the appointment to confirm my appointment. The barber said no need confirming just come at the scheduled time. I got there exactly the scheduled time, called again that I was at the lobby waiting. After 10mins of waiting, I called again, he said he was finishing up with another customer and would be with shortly. I said okay and ended the call. He came out immediately and went - “Hey! There’s no need hanging up the phone on me like that” I immediately apologized and said, I didn’t do that and I thought we were done talking. I apologized again cos I truly didn’t hang up but it may have appeared to him like that. Bro went ahead cancelled my appointment and refunded me. I think this barber is really pompous and arrogant. Even after explaining to you that I was new around here, I drove all the way looking for parking and waiting all to be treated like that. Being from out of the area I was looking for a solid shop to get cleaned up at. To say the least, I had an amazing experience here! Not only did Wes give me a fade that was on point and clean up my beard to perfection, but the entire atmosphere was warm and inviting. The shop has a comfortable vibe that makes you feel right at home.
