FM Smith Park ā Oakland
This park is a hidden Oakland treasure! It doesn't have the biggest or newest playground, but it has everything (but a bathroom) you'd want in a park! With two play areas separated by a big grass field, sand, shade, basketball and a garden... Add this one to your list!
The larger play area sits below huge shade trees (perfect if it's a hot day). It has some really unique features like a wide climbing ladder, a long bridge and two tube ladder. This play structure also has two slides (tube and straight), steps, and learning activities. In this same area is a swing set with standard swings. On the other side of the park is a smaller play area geared towards younger kids. It has steps, a slide, and a ladder. Donāt miss the community garden (not sure of the rules) and the historical area of the park with photographs of the parkās namesake and statues of his beloved mules. š“ While itās not a fully gated, there are barriers separating the park from the road. Be sure to check out the black top design...
