We had such a great time at Scooter’s Surf Shop! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed by Scooter, the owner, who greeted us with a big smile. He answered all our touristy questions about surfing with so much patience and kindness. Not only is he super knowledgeable, but he’s also hilarious, which made our visit even more enjoyable. We ended up just buying a T-shirt, but the experience was memorable thanks to Scooter. His knowledge on the island is super interesting, and his friendliness made us feel right at home. Scooter was so helpful when I was getting into paddle board surfing...he was not just trying to sell me a board like so many other places, he took the time to explain to me the differences between boards, fins and paddles...he could have sold me any of his boards at that time but he didn't...matter of fact he show me a board that someone was selling online that was a couple hours away that I did buy that cost me $700. Because of his honesty I buy and recommend his shop to everyone that is looking for a paddleboard, surfboard body board (boggie board) even bike rentals or kayaks...

Scooter is extremely friendly and informative. I showed up without a reservation and there was a sign on the door that he was out delivering equipment. He was back exactly when it said he would be, was able to hook me up with a perfect board rental and helped strap it on my car, being extremely gracious with the set-up and conscientious of my car. He also gave mountains of invaluable tips and pointers for surfing in general and at OIB specifically, since I'm a beginner. Would not rent from anywhere else but here.
