Flex 24 Fitness - University Location — Local services in Odessa

BEWARE*DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM!! My husband and I work as contractors and are only in certain places for 6 months to a year, so we specifically asked the young man about early termination in case we had to leave before the year ends, he explained it wouldn't be a problem as long as we showed proof of relocation, there couldn't be another one of their gyms within so many miles and also we would have to pay 30 days in advance, so sounded legit and fair, we never thought twice about actually going over the fine print on the contract trusting the knowledge of the employees. Worst Mistake Ever!!! Come to find out by the manager Stephanie, it would cost over $600 per person to cancel early or find someone who will take over contract which that would be another $75 per person to even do that as she states we will do anything we can to help, She Absolutely Will!! Anything she can to take all the money she can from you without even feeling bad. I'm sorry I know it was our fault for not going over the contract but you normally take it for granted and think people are honest to ho over what you are signing. Moved to Odessa from Canada. Researched a few gyms before coming and this decided to check out Flex24 as well as a few others in the area. I was impressed on my first view of the gym. The front desk staff was mediocre at best. I explained I’m new to Odessa and want to sign up for a gym membership somewhere. Is asked if the do a few trial day and was quickly told no they don’t. The guy at the font desk basically said it’s $16.00 drop in or $75.00 to become a member. No real excitement at all about potentially gaining a new member from staff or any effort to build some rapport. I had to ask for a tour of the gym which also showed no excitement whatsoever. A gym is a place someone should feel welcomed right away and comfortable. All in all the gym good. I signed up for a memebership. Price is very high per month and no access to the other Flex24 gym which is odd. I’m still not 100% sold on this gym but didn’t want to spend another $16.00 to do another drop in. I’d suggest some training on staff in sales so people can get excited. Three day trial period would be great as it is a very good layout and if the staff showed some passion or excitement about the gym I’m sure people...

Any good review you see is regarding the 42nd street location near the mall. This gym is horrid. Most of the equipment is old or outdated, as well as broken. Fixing equipment? Yeah that’ll be 6-8 months to get done. The water fountain as well is broken, so make sure you bring your own. Be careful on the leg press as well, as it does not always lock property so try not to become a paraplegic.

The gym smells as well as the bathroom stinks very bad. A couple of the benches have the back cushion not attached so try not to injure yourself.

The only beneficial thing this gym has done recently was hire someone to be at the location occasionally to clean. I would not recommend this...
