I don’t know what you all did differently, let just say the donuts aren’t the same! I have enjoyed SM almost all my life . They were a little greasy, the glazed donuts looked like they had sat in the oil. They definitely weren’t glazed! maybe glazed with oil. I was excited because we were told we had to try this place and that they had great donuts. I was very disappointed though, first off they only take cash which isn’t the end of the world but it’s a hassle to have to go get cash just for donuts and especially in a day when everyone uses a credit or debit card. Even better, go to Honey Donuts on Dixie and 42nd. They're newer and underrated, but the best donuts in town. Huge, fluffy, and melt-in-your mouth. The OG Southern maid is (sadly) a very very close 2nd.
