I took my 11yo son here numerous times over the past month. He was saving his money to buy a higher end/quality car. The man working the counter/owner never spoke to us until we spoke to him, literally didnt even look at us when we walked in! He seemed bothered when we asked questions. We did end up purchasing a car and immediately had problems after the first outing. I called and asked about a warranty, was told there is none. When I asked the cause of the problem so we wouldn't continue to have the same problem was told repeatedly the #1 cause was misuse. I explained that was not the case and asked for any other causes, to which was given the same #1 cause. I expressed my disappointment in his attitude towards a mom and son who is trying to get into a hobby that would keep him outdoors instead of in front of a screen. He then said If I didn't like it I could take my business elsewhere and hung up!
So I did, I immediately called another shop and explained what was happening they said to bring in the car. They took one look and immediately called the manufacture whom is replacing the faulty tires FREE! side note: it was also stated the tires may not have been new/original. I immediately spent money in this local store for other upgrades and will continue to make the additional drive to avoid 405 R/C Raceway and Hobbies. He seems to be there to make money and doesn't seem to care about that actual hobby.
I now have read other reviews and see each and every retort the owner has... It saddens me that he refuses to acknowledge his behavior and is defensive. People are taking precious time out of their day to express their disappointment in you sir! not your products. Think how well your business would grow if you improved your customer service?!? Attitude and Effort means everything in these times and you sir haven't shown me or my son either (apparently other customers as well). Unfortunately editing my review removed your distasteful and rude response, and the “helpful” likes this review had received. It’s entertaining as hell seeing droves of dissatisfied customers with the SAME EXACT concerns I mentioned in the original review. You must have a “clique” of weird friends that give you positive reviews, because it appears everyone else is giving you 1 star. Cheer up Charlie! You’re a dope, and I’m sure your competitors love you for sending business to them!
Came in here with a friend who was interested in getting into the hobby. Being a little interested myself, I had some generic questions and comments. The man working(probably the owner) was extremely stand-offish and unwelcoming. Didn’t acknowledge our presence until I said something, and even then was very withdrawn and gave poor, low effort answers. My friend was ready to buy and had some questions about a particular car, the guy couldn’t have been a worse salesman. My friend still purchased a $2XX car despite this extremely awkward interaction. I personally wouldn’t have. To potential customers reading, I’d drive an hour to another RC shop if I were in the market.

Read moreWe took my kids and my father who is on vacation from out of state here. We’ve been to this track multiple times and have other friends who come from out of state who spend a decent amount of money here. The kids love to watch the RC cars and help flip the cars back over when it’s not busy. They have done it almost all the time there. NOT ONCE has anyone said they couldn’t or shouldn’t or against the rules. Actually they get thanked by other racer members there.
Long story short... we paid for 2 admission of $10 total. The RC broke in less then 15 min. We tried to get assistance in helping figure out what the issue was since we were at the RC shop and could buy the parts needed while we were there. Well the OWNER, is rude. He did not want to help in anyway at all. Only one person got to use the RC track in the 15min there, so we asked to get reimbursed the other $5 as they did NOT use the track. Then we were told NO BECAUSE THE KIDS WERE ON THE TRACK.
Bottom line is, poor customer service and POOR family environment. I will not contribute a business with an owner who isn’t helpful, has a bad attitude and lack of customer service. I would give Zero stars if possible.... the drive there took longer then the 15min we got to race on the track. I hope you learn some better customer service Gary Obrian, as I see we aren’t the only ones who have complaints about your attitude.
