Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

My family and I recently visited Sonic and had one of the worst dining experiences we've ever encountered. We ordered three slushies and a hot dog. Unfortunately, the hot dog ended up with relish on it, which one of our young children, who is very discerning, does not like. When we brought this to the attention of the manager, we were met with an unyielding response that it was incorrectly ordered, and the manager refused to remake the hot dog. Instead, we were told we had to pay for another hot dog.

Faced with this unreasonable policy, we demanded a refund. To our dismay, the manager required all of the food to be returned for the refund to be processed. This led to a very upsetting situation where we had to take away all the food from our children, including one child who was enjoying her very first cranberry slushie. This resulted in tears and confusion as our children could not understand why their food and drinks were being taken away.

Instead of simply remaking a $0.60 hot dog, the manager decided to throw away $40 worth of food, a decision that not only wasted our time, energy, and money but also left our children crying and us extremely frustrated. This was a gross overreaction and a severe lack of customer service that left us with no desire to return to this Sonic location.

We ended up driving to a different Sonic to salvage our meal, but the damage was done. The poor handling of such a simple issue and the lack of compassion from the manager has left a lasting negative impression on us. We will not be returning to this Sonic again and urge others to be wary of such inflexible and customer-unfriendly policies.

This experience has made us rethink our loyalty to Sonic, and we hope management will take serious steps to improve their customer service policies to prevent such unnecessary and wasteful situations...

Slowest, rudest, nastiest food. I will go out of my way for any sonic other than this one. They are incompetent. They will not answer the stalls or drive thru. 5/18/24 I had an order to pick up to deliver. It was 2 pretzels, a mozzarella stick, and a drink. When I arrived, I had to press the button 4 times. They would clear it and not respond. They finally answered and said it would be right out. An hour and 10 minutes later, they would not answer the stall, their phone, or the bench stall. And I still did not have the order. 5/21/24 I had another order to pick up there, which was one burger meal and a blast. 30 minutes of trying to just get someone to answer a stall, drive thru, and then stall again, while they cursed at people ahead in the drive thru, 4 cars did not even get a response ahead of me and drove off after the car that got cursed out and drove off, i waited feom at the stall first for 10 minutes with no answer, the drive thru watching that thwn no andwer for 15 minutes witha peson at the window watching thwm waiting who they were ignoring as well ahead of me, the back at a stall, they then turn their lights out early, and kept ignoring people. A blonde came out the door to talk to a homeless man, and I had to holler and her to tell her I was there to pick up an order to deliver. She was rude. Tried to lie that it was her and just a manager when I clearly saw five people and then went it mocking me and came back out with this person's order very old looking. The blast was melted like it had been sitting that entire time, and the bottom of the food bag was cold. I felt so bad delivering that food.
