TLDR; Been here 4 times. Every time my order has been messed up or not given full order. Cross contamination meant my onion allergic coworker got onions on her food. Twice I've been missing whole parts of the meal. Had rotten veggies on my gyro.
With so many good reviews - I'm honest curious and confused how this has happened every time I've been there.
Actual Review:
Unfortunately, although it seemed the gentleman that worked there was honestly trying to help and get into good graces, I won't be coming back.
The food is good, I won't lie, but I've been here four times and all four times they've messed up my order. Unfortunately this fourth time is my last time despite how kind the gentleman was.
All four times, the order has been messed up or I haven't gotten everything I've ordered. Very simple things like "no lettuce" or "no tomato" never seems to be listened to, so my co-workers have to pluck everything out of there food. I've paid extra to have things put on to my gyro just to find out they never got put on. Orders of fried mushrooms, fries, or even a gyro itself never get put in the bag and handed to me.
With my order getting messed up on a consecutive basis, this is no longer a mistake - but a habit. I can't trust Gyro's vs Philly's to give me my order correctly.
This last time, however, not only did they not have rice (which I'm fine with), but I had to go back to pick up the fried mushrooms my coworker wanted because they had never been made or put in the bag. I have only 30 minutes of a break, so this took a full hour of my day to get mushrooms. One of my co-workers is allergic to onions - and although I'm aware cross contamination can and does happen -, what she ordered didn't have onions, but there were some anyway.
Now, MY food had me physically gag and threw it away after three bites.
I've worked in the restaurant industry for 12 years, literally since I've been able to work, so I know what good quality food is.
I was disgusted to see they put ROTTED veggies on my gyro after I finally got the chance to eat it after returning to work a second time. Idk what green or lettuce they use, but not only was it extremely wilted and browning, it was liquiding. Like when you forget you had lettuce in your crisper for 4 weeks or you get the horrible salad from your high schools cafeteria. Not to mention the taste of it.
This last time was the last time. I can't give someone or some place a fifth chance to mess up, and I certainly won't give someone a second chance to give me actually rotting food.
My co-workers can go if they like, but I won't be coming back or spending anymore money. With the reviews they do have, I'm honestly so curious how they can do this so consistently. I only ever order for...
Read moreWe have wanted to try Gyros, Etc for three years since we live nearby, but they’re never open. We finally saw cars in the drive through today and decided to give it a shot. First of all, there were absolutely no pandemic measures. No one wore masks, no one even washed their hands. I asked about masks and the teenager at the window literally had to go find one. The owner gave us our food on the other side and had no mask, no gloves, and forgot part of our order. Our food was $31 for two cabbage rolls (we were given a third for free because they forgot to put them in the bag), a Diet Pepsi (completely flat, just syrup), a Philly cheesesteak (no peppers or onions, just gyro meat and melted cheese), a gyro (basically no meat and empty on both ends) and four pieces of baklava. The meat was chewy and over cooked and honestly nearly nonexistent, the staff were unprofessional and didn’t seem to care one way or the other about anything at all, and there are several incredible local places to get gyros in the area so honestly, I regret putting money into this business when it could have gone to support a local business that puts effort and passion into what they do. I wish I could give zero stars- overwhelmingly...
Read moreA Mixed Bag, but That Philly? Dynamite.
Talk about a damn tasty Philly — the Dynamite Philly absolutely lives up to the name. Packed with flavor, solid texture, and just the right amount of heat to keep things interesting. Everything was melty, savory, and cooked just right.
The chicken shawarma, though? Eh… not quite there. Myra pointed out how different it looked compared to the menu photo, and honestly, she was spot on. Flavor-wise, it was fine, nothing offensive, but the texture and presentation reminded me more of something you'd pick up from the deli section at Crest or Walmart. I wanted to like it more than I did.
And then there's the baklava. Personally, I loved it — rich, syrupy, and full of nutty goodness. But my wife wasn’t as impressed. It was soft, almost soggy, with none of that crispy top layer you usually expect. Not sure if we just got a batch that was extra soaked or if that’s the norm here, but worth noting if texture’s important to you.
All in all? I'd go back just for the Philly in a heartbeat. The rest?...
