Three days ago we went a 2nd time. So first time which was 4 days ago, Someone went back told everyone restocking time get out this area randomly wasn't asking nicely saying more of go now. But when we checked out we had a sweet kind lady. We paid as the pounds and signs said. The 2nd time we went we looked through things and a kind lady working there was told by someone else go take the bin we need it back here (it's clearly overfull all ready) and another COSTOMER and I were looking through it we just got to it as she came up said I'm sorry girls I have to take this one to the back. Now she was very polite. We got to the check out and I noticed the man in front of us over paying. We got same person she goes says we have 15 pounds (at least) while we only have no more than 10 pounds of even (our son pointed out their medium squish mellow is waying over a pound (he sat alone see its number and says wow...as to ones we have at home same size weigh under a pound ...well the pound never left the scale kept saying pound...also notive 5 pounds was added on to ours and the man before us got it added on to his which had had a very small bag with clothes in it.) He had puzzled face but paid moved on. We didn't say anything we noticed if you do you just don't get shop again to looks of it this lady had greedy sound to her COSTOMERS. Rating would go higher if issue is fixed we over paid by few dollars. We got hardly more than the previous time which was 5 pounds at end would been $15 about 8 pounds for true weight. Feel we were luckier than person In front of us too. It did seem some the employees were little racist which felt weird from our town if anyone is racist it's a new personor old upper age person from back in the day and causation. Here it was to us causations from 2 others....our first day was a nice lady and she wasnt same as us but treated us equal. The man in front same happened but noticed with this 2nd day the ones like the employees that were not so kind got treated better.. the costomers the 2nd time we went were very kind and some tried explain and help . Very dusty place could use a clean . Other wise great experience. Plan on one more time attending and hoping we get the nice lady that also double checked the board to do the pricing. Oh by way we paid about $25 as my husband said they didn't seem kind to us at all that day as employees s and one employee wasn't even doing anything she stood at register that 2nd day and stared and just chilaxed the whole time we were up...
Read moreI've been to several Goodwill Outlet Bins in the south including Dallas, Fort Worth, Waco, and Little Rock. After reading some of these reviews, I was a little hesitant to check out this one. But I'm so glad I ignored them and shopped anyway. Here the truth of what I found at the OKC Bins today:
All Goodwill Bins are different from a regular Goodwill store. It's not for everyone. Things are not meticulously organized. You have to dig through a lot of things you might not be interested in. Customers throw things around while they're looking. I wish they wouldn't, but they do. At all of them. This store is no different. But I would not say the people here are worse than at any other Bins. They are just like that at all of them.
There is a little shouting by the workers when they're bringing in the Bins. It's because it's loud. They need you to hear them. Stay out of the aisles when they're bringing out new Bins. You're in the way and they need you to move. Trust me when I say that there are far worse places where the workers yell and they're mean about it. Not the case at the OKC Bins.
Despite the other reviews, all housewares are $1/pound. Glass is .89. Clothes are higher per pound depending on how much you buy. The price per pound goes down the more you buy. I found the prices very fair.
Yes there's junk in the Bins. There's always junk but there's also some treasures if you look and dig. If you know what to look for and can be patient and wait, they will bring new Bins out pretty soon. They are trading them out a LOT more at this Bins than any other Bins I've visited.
There aren't many carts at this store but they do have large yellow rolling commercial carts if you can get one. If not, bring your own rolling container. And always wear gloves. Just be smart.
I found the workers very friendly and helpful. There are lots of them around and I didn't see or hear even one that was being rude.
The bathrooms are easy to find, clean and well stocked. No issues there.
Check out was easy. No long lines if you know what you're doing and sorted your items before getting to the scales.
All in all, a great day. I got a big haul, didn't spend that much money, filled up the back of my Durango and can't wait to go again!
Only reason they didn't get a 5 star rating was because they didn't change out the glassware Bins as often as I would have liked, but that is being...
Read moreFor the adventurous budget shopper, THIS IS THE PLACE. You have to go in with the right attitude, you're gonna be digging and if a new row of goods "goes live" during your trip, you will be elbowing folks out to get the your hands on the best-stuff first. And the workers are working hard to keep things constantly moving, so if you're there for about longer than a half hour, you'll experience this.
I personally think the best approach is to grab a buddy, bring some sort of bin of your own (shopping carts EXTREMELY LIMITED), and team up to pick through a bin at a time as a pair. If you're willing to endure the hunt, you'll come out with at least a couple treasures. I've gotten a basically-untouched Calvin Klein coat there, I've seen several pairs of good sturdy Levi's jeans, and two of my favorite sweaters came from here. You have to give it a chance, you never know what you'll find. Unlike other Goodwill Outlets, the electric goods here are still in the priced-by-the-pound bins, so you may escape with a heck of a deal on something like a vacuum cleaner, DVD player...I got a paint sprayer once for around $4.
Furniture is also available, typically priced well under $10 for even larger items like a couch. From my experience, inventory turns over on that stuff about once a week.
Ignore anyone saying this is the stuff that couldn't sell and is just narrowly avoiding the landfill. Lots of folks living downtown come to donate directly to here, and it receives items when other stores are too full of inventory to process new donations. You absolutely never know exactly what you're going to find, but I encourage you to...
