I came in with good expectations. The decor follows modern trends with polished concrete, plenty of natural light, blonde wood, and numerous potted plants. Our first indication that something was off was the slow service. Our server took some time to get to us for a drink order, and he returned some time later with coffee. Ok, we figured, brunch can be crazy and maybe they're still figuring things out. Then I tried my coffee. The espresso I ordered was cold and so bitter it was like sucking on lemon rinds and cut grass. Ok, again, it may have well been my mistake to order espresso at a restaurant, but I never finished the coffee.
We then ordered and after a lengthy wait, our food arrived. The bagel sandwich had generous portions, but featured an odd decision to combine the flavors of an herbed cream cheese with maple bacon. The polenta was way too acidic. It was inedible. The Biscuit and Gravy was just a biscuit and gravy with some broken bacon on top. The one highlight was the hash brown side, which was notable for just being completely normal.
The tipping point in our experience came after the meal. Our server dropped our check right after our food arrived, and while our server was busy chatting with the tables around us after, a support staff member came by, noticed the credit card I placed on the check, and asked if we wanted to pay. We went through a hand-held, digital payment system interface and completed the transaction. Leaving our half eaten food and coffee on the table, we decided to head on out.
As we were walking down the block, our server chased us down to demand that we pay for our food. We were shocked at both the accusation but also that our server finally started to pay attention to us. We replied that we had already paid, and then he replied asking who took our payment. We described the server, turned, and kept walking. He kept shouting at us and we decided to leave.
I cannot recommend this restaurant. The prices are high and for that premium, the food and service should be top-notch as well. There are too many great brunch places in Oklahoma City, including Mary Eddie's next door. I will not plan on returning, and I think anyone considering this restaurant should weigh the risk of...
Read moreAt one point, my family and I were regulars at this restaurant. The first handful of times were good experiences, even though the food is a little pricey. We loved the waitstaff and atmosphere. The last three times we went however, the kitchen messed up our food orders. The first two times not leaving off specific items we requested. My partner was pretty much done with the place however, I didn’t want to quit going and convinced her to let me place a to go order for brunch on a Sunday.
I went in, sat at the bar, had a Stitch coffee, ordered my food and waited. Again, I have always loved the staff, so I chatted with them while waiting to get my to go order. I ordered the steak and eggs. It comes with lemony kale as a side, which is incredible and I always look forward to it. When I got home however, they gave me potatoes instead of the kale. Bummer because I have begun the Keto diet and can’t have potatoes. I ordered my eggs over medium. Wade, my server, even specified with me what I meant by over medium so he could relay to the kitchen. Runny yolk, not runny whites. Seemed promising, but they were over hard. Okay fine, not a big deal, except when I bit into them there were egg shells in it! Final straw for me, especially at the price of the food.
I’m not one who likes to give a negative public review, so I private messaged them on Instagram. I expressed my disappointment from my experiences and told (whoever runs their Instagram) that I didn’t even want a refund. All I wanted was for the kitchen staff to pay more attention to detail with their cooking, because I didn’t want to stop going here.
They read it fairly quickly after I sent it, and NEVER RESPONDED. Not ever, and we were regulars.
We spent a lot of money there, our food was messed up multiple times, we said something about it and then got ignored. Big mistake. A simple apology and “we’ll address it,” would have kept us coming back to try it again.
Customer service is paramount in any business. You can fix mistakes, but not like this. Unfortunately, we will...
Read moreSo they should have changed the name when they completely changed the food genre and menu. I loved what Stitch used to be. Their power bowl was just amazing, and their beet latte was like nothing I have ever had anywhere else. My hubby liked their regular coffee, and that says something. There is nothing on this 2023 menu that is the same or similar to the old menu that was around in 2020. The old menu had farm to table ingredients, nutritious filled options, really fresh, and you just felt good when you ate there. This current menu is very limited in what it offers. Everything looked like the same flavor. I got two tacos and shared a tart with my hubby. The tacos had good flavor, and I thought they were a good portion. The brown sugar tart was really dry. Before it was a sit-down service, now you order at the counter and hope you find a table before your food comes out. So I don't like that at all, obviously. Also, I don't like people staring at your table waiting for you to leave. Ambiance is the same and not. All the decor is the exact same, really bright and happy with plants everywhere. But it feels more congested because of the constant line to order, and it just feels crowded now and more stressed. Before, it was a nice, calm place to eat, and now not so much. I don't want to come back, but I will have to because another couple wants to try it out. Maybe it won't be so bad now that I know what to expect, and my expectations are not the 2020 Stitch. Oh, and bottomless coffee (aka all-day...
