NEVER FLY UNITED.
We were leaving Las Vegas, flying with United. We were supposed to leave at 10:54 am. As weâre boarding the plane weâre directed to de-plane. The plane had a flat. Good catch. Shouldnât be long they have mechanics en route to change the tires. Nope, scratch that, the Las Vegas international airport doesnât have spare tires, they have to fly a tire in from San Francisco... the flight is delayed approximately 2 hours.
Get in line to get new boarding passes because we will miss the connecting flight in Denver. We wait in line for 2 hours. Receive new boarding passes. 30 minutes later, itâs too hot to change the tires... get back in line because we wonât catch the new connecting flight we were just given. Wait in line 1 hour to get new boarding passes.
As soon as we set down, thereâs problems with the brakes... flight is delayed until fixed. Get back in line to get new boarding passes. Wait 1 hour. There are no more flights out of Denver to OKC now. We will give you a voucher for food and hotel in Denver once you get there.
Go to try and eat some dinner because lunch came and went while we were living in the boarding pass lines, get message on the way to food that we have a gate change to SPT1. There is no such gate. Get back in line with everyone else. Wait 1 hour. Flight to Denver cancelled.
Weâll put you on the next flight, still give you food vouchers and hotel in Denver. Next flight leaves. Get to Denver about 11pm. Wait in line at âcustomer serviceâ for 1 hour to receive the vouchers for hotel and food... all food places are now closed. Go to get bags, âweâre sorry itâll be 2-4 hours before you can get your bags as theyâre not priority...â
Wait 30 minutes for shuttle to hotel. Go to sleep about 1 am... wake up at 5:30 am, same clothes, smell like a dead animal, slept with contacts in. Leave on shuttle at 6am. Get to Denver airport, go through security, get to gate. Get in line to use food vouchers. Plane is boarding early. Get out of line. Get on plane. Sorry maintenance has to fix the âsystem.â Maintenance fixes system. Leave late.
Arrive in OKC. Go to United baggage claim. No luggage. Wait in baggage issue line. âLuggage is in Denver... they should be able to put them on a flight to okc, but I canât guarantee that... I donât have a number for United baggage in Denver... give me your address and weâll drop them off at your house IF they put them on a flight.â
Every single opportunity United had to do their job, or make up for a failure to do so, they failed. Every. Single. One. Youâll see United flights are cheaper when you go to book yours. This is only one of many similar issues with United, though not quite this bad. Never again. Canât say I...
Read moreIf I could give less I would! After my flight was rerouted to this airport do to weather I have never been treated worse in my life. No communication and even hid from us passengers around the corner to avoid us. Left my 2 month old and I with no water, food, diapers or a place to go but the baggage claim over night. Refused to help me when I asked for it the next day on regards to my flight and yelled at me with their finger in my face over the counter in front of everyone in the terminal. As my baby and I cried for hours with still no help or even condolences of any sort they continued to toss us and my carry-on (diaper bag/purse and bottle cooler) around from on flight to another yet to leave us standing in an endless line waiting with no answers yet again. They would not even help me by savings my stop in line so I could nurse my baby and when he cried from hunger, lack of sleep and stress from traveling and being in an airport for over 24 hrs in awful conditions, they requested that quiet him because it was upsetting others. Now I understand no one wants to travel with a crying baby but he cried twice the whole 24 hours we were there and both times bc they would not allow me to nurse or had me running after them as they tossed us around. To top it all off once we arrived at our destination they lost my luggage that contained everything of my babies. For 6 days I had nothing! No apologies or reimbursement what's so ever. The staff for United airlines at this location should be ashamed of themselves!! If not for other passengers that we're kind enough to offer a helping hand I don't know what we would have done. I'm just glad we managed through the night and nothing serious happened to us. United airlines needs to reassess who they have representing their company in this...
Read moreThis is a deplorable airline. They managed to destroy an anniversary trip and they had zero remorse. We had a 9 hour delay to our final destination of Kauai, not once telling us the truth. We were delayed 1-2 hours at a time with different lines that made zero sense. We finally figured out that the delay was simply because they had not sold enough seats to fill a 757-300, therefore they switched planes to the 757-200, that accommodated about 100 fewer passengers. This trend continues through the trip there and coming back. Some employees did the best they could to manage what their management dealt them, others were an absolute nightmare to even talk to. Denver was the absolute worst as it relates to customer service; staff was rude, obnoxious, offensive and non caring after a 9 hr delay. Our return was no better. They delayed the âď¸ flight due to an over booking of 11 passengers. After offering $1,500 vouchers to anyone who would give up their seat, they then announced "oops, bring those vouchers back, we actually do have room to take everyone on this flight". Embarrassing incompetence. Flyers be aware, this airline is as bad as they come. I wish I had the option to rate them lower than 1, as even that rating is...
