For the most part it was great .I was picking up my grandkids it was the first time picking up unacompanied children so i had to go all the way to the loading and unloading area. On the elevator I met two volunteers that helped me out a great deal . They took me and showed me where and what to do. At the ticket counter there was a mixup but the clerk was right on and it was fixed innocent time .THEN I go to security area every one else was taking their shoes off and the guard started yelling that he didn't tell me to take my shoes off then he called me stupid because I had a mask in my back pocket. But if anything was said on my part to him they have rules that get you in trouble for saying anything. But I guess if your wife bullies you before you go to work it would make you want to bullies others. Outside of the man with a little man complex it was great. Keep up the good work. Xxxx 8/8/23 the airport was excellent helpful friendly staff. But American Airlines needs a management makeover. My daughter made arrangements for the tickets for her two kids over a month ago when they went to visit their father in N.C. .they were supposed to return yesterday 8/7/23 at 309 p.m. they postponed the flight leaving N.C. so when it landed in Dallas it would land two minutes after thier flight took off to come to O.K.C. Airport. We were told we would have to go to Dallas to get them. Which is an 9 hour roundtrip drive. My Daughter that is deployed was on the phone off and on for 7 hours trying to find out what was going on. (The time difference she lost a night's sleep getting this fixed) she managed to get them a flight to Lawton Oklahoma that would land at 11:57 p.m.. Around 3:00p.m. (3:09 p.m. was originally when they were supposed to land.) We were notified that the kids couldn't take that flight because it was against the law for children to take the last flight of the night. So thier father had to make a 3 hour trip back home and and back this morning at 2:00 a.m. to get them on a flight. It took over 24 hours to make a 4 hour flight. Wonder how long it would if it wasn't planned out ahead of time. This same thing happened at Christmas time the flight was canceled to O.K.C. and we were told that we would have to go to Tulsa airport to pick them up so we went from an hour and a half drive on icee roads to a 8 hour roundtrip on Icee roads. My opinion American Airlines should have to change their name because they don't give a DAMN about American soldiers or...
Read moreI have always really liked this airport, but the last two times I picked up passengers there, I had an extremely unpleasant experience. There is a “security” fella there, who is rude, impatient, and dangerous. He yells nonstop, AS SOON AS you pull over to pick up your passenger. And my passenger was standing right there! I always wait in the cell phone lot till he calls. Neither one of us wants to dilly dally there, but this guy admonishes CONSTANTLY! LETS GO SIR, let’s go, come on, keep moving, keep moving ma’am, let’s go, keep moving. . . . It was horrible! We are both “active seniors”, we are NOT slow, and we could not have moved any faster. His verbal abuse did not stop, not for one single second. It was ridiculous. He rushed me so much that I almost had an accident pulling back out, into traffic, just to go go go. He needs to be further down, where people are parked, at pickup, (where they are NOT supposed to be!)policing that area, instead of in the cell phone lot, but noooooo. He’d rather abuse the people who have done the right thing. What a miserable experience. I was rattled all the way home to Ada, ok, and it started our vacation off on a VERY sour note. I told my husband that he will have to drag his luggage as far away from this guy as possible, in the future. Makes OK look bad, to anyone coming for a visit. Give this guy a job in a cubicle, with no people contact. Please. Spare us the misery. I told a friend about our experience, and she knew exactly who I meant! Ohmygosh, that’s...
Read moreI went to Will Roger's Airport to pick up my good friend. The Arrival is at the lower level and Departure is at the upper level. If you make a mistake, there is a loop to go around. In the event you arrive early, there is a waiting area parking lot to the right of the road on the way to the terminal, clearly designated as "Waiting Area'. It is a free parking area. Otherwise, parking is $6 or $12 a day for economy parking. You can not stay parked for a long time at Arrivals or Departures. If you are parked long, an officer will send you on your way. Inside the airport, if you are departing, check-in is very easy. Follow your Airlines guidelines for check-in. Usually, they have an app that will guide you. Lines are not as long during off-season travel. I use Clearme.com to expedite my transition to the secure area of the airport. Clearme.com costs $80 per year - check their website for the latest pricing. It allows me to clear TSA in larger airports that I may have a returning flight. This one time in Miami, the line was so long, and 3 hours would have passed before I could get to my terminal. Clearme cut down my wait by 2hrs 30 mins. Food and drinks are reasonable at Will Roger's. I recommend bringing an empty metal water bottle and using their free filtered water dispenser of you are health and environmentally conscious. They will allow small snacks through TSA scanning as long as you don't go overboard. Overall, Will Roger's Airport is a good Airport to arrive at and depart from. Cheers...
