Waited by the door for a few minutes while the hostess basically ignored me. I then asked another waitress who was rolling silverware if it’s ok to sit at the bar, she said ok. Unfortunately the remaining available bar chairs were dirty and had old pickle and food debris assuming from previous patrons. I then asked the same waitress who said it was ok to sit at the bar could I sit elsewhere because the bar seats weren’t serviceable. At this time the hostess the same hostess that ignored me while I stood in front then proceeded to tell me I needed to go back outside the restaurant and wait at the door, because I had to wait to be seated, a total contradiction from what at this point two other staff members said was ok. She then proceeded to explain how they have sections etc. pretty much became passive aggressive and rude look like because I didn’t wait on her even with her staff members basically doing her job. Needless to say I walked out. One thing I don’t do is pay for undesirable service. Had she not tried to get snarky with me I’d charge the whole encounter to a misunderstanding. However, the fact her co-workers not only tried to accommodate me but the fact she asked me to step out of a restaurant I’d at that point been welcomed in by at least two other staff members basically solidified that the original hostess did not want to serve me and look like proving a point regarding technicalities became first priority instead of serving me. Been flying through Will Rogers Airport for the past three years now and I must say this was the first “Karen” experience I’ve had here. Hopefully it will...

There are not a lot of options yet I mostly find it preferable to sit at the gate with an $8 water or grab vending machine food vs. sitting at this unacceptably poorly run establishment. Even for an airport, the prices simply are not justified for the poor quality, poor service, and incredibly odd atmosphere. (Hanson, Ja-Rule, Spice Girls, Cher...all in the span of a few minutes) It's like they got the playlist stuck on alternative 90s-00s and can't figure it out. It's also blaring all the time ..so forget about a calm morning coffee or taking a business call. The food..bland, overpriced, stale, old, and unappetizing...just don't. I hate to pick on this place so hard but there is simply under execution on every level. When it's the only thing on this side of the airport, that's a huge miss. Oh, and as of writing California Love by Tupac comes on. While I love the song...it's not for a place like this.

Read moreI don’t often write a restaurant review and this is the first one I’ve written for an airport eatery. Osteria earns my 5 stars for their TOP SHELF FOOD AND SERVICE!
I have travelled to Italy several times (family member lives there) and have eaten plenty of ‘regular’ as well as upscale meals there. Osteria nails it in terms of quality, taste and presentation.
Waiting for my flight at ’brunch’ time, I ordered eggs Benedict. Outstanding preparation! Chef used pancetta instead of Canadian bacon. The hollandaise was light and super-fresh. The poached eggs were tender, and it was topped with the freshest arugula. Sorry, no picture because it was too good to put down my fork.
Server Sage was charming and welcoming, not to mention checked back a few times with a smile. Manager Byron stopped by just to check if I was enjoying my meal. I told him that, being an occasional visitor to OKC, I will be back not only here but will bring my party of four to the downtown...
