I really wanted this meal to be good. I’m local & have been to the other locations in OKC. Since this a local chain & serves travelers at OKC Will Rogers Airport, I expected it to be phenomenal and show off our OKC excellence. Boy was I wrong, sadly. It started out good with the hostess quickly seating me. The restaurant was busy but not full so there wasn’t a wait. My server, Lauren came to my table as I was sitting so no wait to get my drink order in. I ordered a specialty mule cocktail off the menu, and she returned in a timely manner with the drink and took my meal order. The mule was served in a glass instead of a copper mug so not a true mule, but ok I can overlook it. Everything was mediocre to bad from then on. I had debated whether I wanted breakfast food or a sandwich. I went with the Black Russian Ruben. It came with Dijon mustard so I asked for it to be on the side. It also came with fries and a pickle. The best thing about the meal was the pickle. The plate was delivered in a timely fashion but by an uncaring runner instead of my waitress, Lauren. The Dijon was missing and 3 packets of ketchup had been tossed on top of the fries like an afterthought. The slices of bread were in pieces, untoasted and wet (not soggy, wet). Lauren walked past a few moments later to deliver food to the table next to me and I noticed they had ramekins full of ketchup instead of packets. I managed to get her attention to bring the mustard for my sandwich and she quickly did. Unfortunately though, she didn’t ask me if everything was ok or how the food was otherwise. Nobody came to my table again until I was finished eating. Overall, everything on the plate was bland and tasteless except that pickle, yes even the mustard. I entertained myself by people watching. I realized Lauren was the waitress for half the restaurant as well as the bartender! There were 2 other waitresses sharing the other half of the restaurant. There were 3 runners/bussers and 1 maybe 2 hostesses. I say 4 people and a manager working in the kitchen. Why was Lauren having to cover half the room? A woman at the table next to me ordered biscuits and gravy. 30 minutes later she was still waiting. I was semi thankful that I hadn’t ordered a breakfast plate at that point. Even after Lauren asked the runner to check on it, it was still another 10 minutes before it was ready due to the kitchen was making fresh gravy (for 40 minutes? 5 cooks?). Lauren brought me my tab after she saw I was finished $37 for a wet sandwich and a cocktail. I paid and she said thanks but nobody said goodbye, have a good day, or cared when I left. Possible suggestion, I probably would’ve had a better experience sitting at the bar but there weren’t any...

I dined here for the very first time. I enjoyed a delicious meal called The Famous PanOK Cake, which was rather fluffy and sweet with some toasted pecans and bacon on top. Initially, I was reluctant to try this place because of the common complaints regarding the wait, but I was seated as soon as I arrived. Did the server take a few minutes to see me? Yes, but there were only four of them, and the seats were packed. The place appeared to be quite neat, and the atmosphere wasn't too loud. The servers were definitely busy, and they were working as quickly as possible from what I could see. When I could get my server, another was able to provide me with what I needed. Also, it's ALWAYS a huge thumbs-up to see the chefs using gloves to cook the food, especially in an airport diner--TRUST ME.
I probably wouldn't recommend this place for a 30-40 minute layover, but if you have the time, they're worth it. My only regret was that I couldn't order a few other dishes to try because everything that passed near me smelled and looked good. Slightly pricey---but it's airport food, soooo....Additionally, the portions are pretty hefty.
Thank you, Hatch Staff! Your kind attitudes and attentiveness were much appreciated after a long vacation and an even longer layover. I highly recommend on your way in or out of...
Read moreI really, really, really want to like this place . I come here whenever I fly out of OKC. However, there is always something that comes up. Today, my server was GREAT! I ordered the Kitchen Sink with medium cooked eggs. Eggs came out over easy. I had a few bites and the server asked me how it was. I showed her the running eggs weren't medium but over-easy. I took her up on her offer to redo the dish. New plate comes out, eggs were medium .... great! However, everything under it was bits and pieces, including their signature hash potato balls. Also, dish was missing the hollandaise sauce. Kind of makes me wonder if they repurposed people's leftovers and threw it on my plate with new eggs. 🤔 I requested a side of hollandaise sauce and the server provided it. Thank God I tasted it before I put it on my food because it was cold. That's like adding cold gravy to mashed potatoes. No thanks.
5 stars for my server. 1 star for the food ....although it could have easily been 5 if the cooks were...
