Ava Nails Spa & Wax — Local services in Olathe

I paid $50 to come home and try to fix my nails with a file. Shape is off and nail polish is put in whatever direction (almost horizontally on one of the nails) and it was obvious to everyone I showed my nails to except for the person who was doing my nails. French was half a nail of white color which made it look sooooo bad that I just had to ask to put color on the top of it. If you're in a beautification industry, you should do your best to make your client look beautiful not weird! Every time I tried to ask to correct things, I heard pretty rough: What do you mean? I dont understand! What other French do you mean? Very negative experience.

PS. Not posting a false review. My sister in-law said the color was cute, not the shape. Plus everyone in my family didn't like it. I had to fix it myself. I tipped as I'm a nice person. Shouldn't have done it. French can't and mustn't be half white half pink nail. Moreover, if you know it's not what it should be tell in advance, not when it's done and it looks weird. I'm used to having natural color acrylic nail and cover on the top, not white tips pretending they are French. I can post pictures of my nails to prove every point of my review. I noticed a Groupon for this nail salon for $22 for a basic pedicure and $22 for gel manicure. I called to make an appointment before I purchased and Ava explained that I could come in and she would still honor the price. Well, the pedicure was really "basic". and the gel polish looked ok. She charged me $50 instead of $44. I explained that groupon was for $22 each. She apologized so I just asked her to give the nail tech the $6 as a tip. Well, my nails (toes and fingers) started to chip within the next day. I didn't really worry about my toes because I don't have them out because it is still cold out. I called and she allowed me to come back and redo my nails herself. Honestly, they looked great afterwards. I loved them. She explained that they chipped because my nails are thin.... I never had this problem with any other nail salon... She redid my nails on Saturday and it's Wednesday and I have two chipped nails already... a waste of my money. One star just because my nails could look worse. But the only reason they dont is probably because i only went in for a fill.

The lady who did our nails did both me and my friend AT THE SAME TIME, and it took 40 mins total. She completely rushed the service, didn’t bother asking us what we wanted done besides what color. Not to mention the color I got was not even what I asked for (I didnt bother asking for her to change it because i already saw this was going to be an awful experience with how rushed it was).Both of our sets came out bumpy.

There was a lady next to us getting her old set drilled off by a man who looked like he has never touched a filer. She yelped “Ow!” Maybe 5 times, then the pedicure girl came to take over. I will literately never go back to Ava’s. I couldnt stop myself from laughing to my friend near end of the service thats how much of a joke it...
