Have you ever wanted to go a grocery store sort of like No Frills but dirtier and more expensive? Then Avanza might just be what you are looking for!

This place has a weird pungent odor and always seems dirty. The employees for the most part seem to hate their jobs. The bathrooms are always full of graffiti, have no toilet paper, have toilets that are clogged, and garbage all over the floor. They are not a discount grocer. Even their house brand is expensive and gross. We have tried their generic soup, marshmallows, crackers, cereal, and others.

You may be asking yourself why we have gone there on seemingly multiple occasions? Well, we live nearby, and try to support our community, but I would rather take the time to drive anywhere else and give another community my money. Most of the staff is friendly. There is one cashier that my husband and I had a problem with one time. This is our neighborhood grocery store and we walk there all the time. We asked that they not make the bags too heavy and double them. She did for one bag, so my husband grabbed a couple extra and the cashier started yelling at him and saying we could not have any more bags as they cost too much for us to be have any extra to double the bags she then proceeded to snatch the bags right out of my husband's hands!!! This place drives me nuts. They have zero customer service if they even know what customer service even is. I asked if they had any ginger beer, one lady pointed to the beer and said our beer is over there. The guy I asked said no so I asked if he knew what it was and he said no. We got to check out with him as well while eating food. Wow at least chew with your mouth closed.
