Empire Barbers — Local services in Ontario

I was a walk in! Let me tell you, Bring cash about $40 bucks will do. I got there at 8:55am on a Saturday and was out by 9:45am. I walked in and let one of the barbers that I was a walk in and he asked big man Jimmy if he has room. He quickly said yes and walked up to us. Jimmy was very polite and asked my 9yr old boy if he knows what he wants. He told him and off they went. He told him he wanted a design on the side of his head and Jimmy told him I got you little man. The shop was playing music and it was nice a mixture of top 2000 mixed. Music was not cray loud where it’s annoying. They have 2 TVs and they play movies. The shop is 100% clean and no one was on there phone! The guys do talk but they don’t stop cutting hair to tell a story. The atmosphere has a LA Vibe and the guys are guys. They talk trash to each other and remember it’s a barber shop. They respect the fact if a kid or a lady is in the room the conversation doesn’t get to out of control. Example when I was at the shop with my 9yr old and another lady an her son was at the shop also. The conversation went from Who eats an In & Out burger at 9am? Then they started tell there best way to order burgers! Lol it was funny… All in all this place is great. Do recommend to set an appointment or if your walking in get here before 9am on Saturday. Jimmy you cut my Boys hair and you locked it out the park. To see you take your time and told him where he wanted the design and seeing my boy with a big smile. That’s what it’s all about. Big ups for our local barabers who make every person smile...

I sat there for an hour and a half and didn't get seated before I got fed up and left. There were 4 people in front of me and 3 barbers. None of the barbers did any special treatments or anything that requires extra time. I watched them talk between themselves and take their sweet time. They had called me up but told me never mind because someone else said he'd called ahead for an appointment and also been waiting for an hour but they forgot to write him down so they took him before me even though on the list I was before him. He was only on the list because he wrote it down when he walked in. This isn't even the first time I've been and they've been extremely slow. I've been now 3 times and each time it took at least 45 minutes to be seat me. They cut hair better than a run of the mill shop but they aren't a place worth waiting over an hour for every...

Sat there for 40 minutes waiting my turn. In that 40 minutes I witnessed 2 things. Every barber was taking way too long. 3/4 of them would stop cutting hair and go text for a full minute or 2 before going back to cutting hair for a minute or 2, it's like they rewarded themselves with a minute of phone time for every minute spent cutting hair. One of the barbers was cutting hair and going back to his phone for nearly 3 minutes at a time, before shaving the clients head when it's not what he asked for. The clients face turned stone cold and angry, but the barber didn't apologize, they just started making some jokes that were probably intended to be light hearted but were extremely messed up considering the situation.
