Kind of disappointed. I called store ahead of time before making a 45 min trip. I had brought in 2 very expensive collectible toys. The worker there was polite so I’m not leaving a 1 star as I understand he was doing his job and store policy. However he told me the completed sales of both of my items one being $800. And then he said the best they can offer me was $80. $80 on an item that sells for $800 consistently. I understand the store has to make profit but that’s just insane. The second item is easily worth $400 and I was offered $25. I’m not sure the complete store policy but I would have never wasted a trip to the store if I was going to be offered less then 10% of there actual resell value. It’s like being offered $10 for a ps5. Quite honestly laughable. The most annoying part is I tried to call ahead of time and ask if they’d be interested for a reply of yes they would. I then asked on an estimated price based on the items I had for them to say they can’t give me that offer the phone and that I had to drive in person. Anyways, wasted my time. I just can’t see how someone’s store policy is so stingy on collectible toys. If I had brought in a castlevania symphony of night for ps1 would I have been offered $5? Last thing the gentlemen that helped me was polite. This is just more frustration towards whoever the management side...
Read moreI was on a weekend getaway to LaGrange, GA and being the moron I am, I had to figure out a way to spend more money. Just so happens Game X Change was only 30 minutes away in Alabama.
I don't know why I wasn't expecting much, and I wasn't blown away or anything like that. Everything just seemed nice and chill. Nothing wrong with Game X Change at all. Probably one of the cleaner shops I've been to. Staff was pleasant and bro-ish. I guess I got lucky and the pissy manager in other reviews wasn't there.
They got a little bit of everything. A little bit of retro games. A little bit of modern games. A little bit of funkos. A little bit of Pokemon. A little bit of movies. Just nothing that jumped out at me. So far this is the first time I've ever left a shop without buying anything. I can't blame them for that though. The nature of the beast dictates inventory is always in flux. That's just how she is sometimes.
I don't know if I'll ever be back. Not the fault of Game X Change. I just happened to be in an area I've never been to. But all in all, from what I gathered, there seems to be a supportive community behind this place. The patrons and staff seemed to have a good back and forth and for all I know, is a pillar of the community. So hopefully they continue to get that support...
Read moreA lot of things I purchase in there is either broken or just don't work. im a regular shopper in the store and had the first bad experience today with the elderly middle aged woman. i assume she's the store manager. she had a bad attitude when i tried explaining that I was looking for a cable and adapter that will let me use a ps2 on my hdmi computer monitor and she proceeds to tell me that they don't make adapters for ps2s that you can use a multi out to ypbpr cable. the adapter needed is a ypbpr to hdmi. treating customers like they don't know what they are talking about is not the way to go about business. also i needed something tested to make sure it worked and she was too lazy to even get the necessary items out to test with. now i have to make another visit because i got a ps2 memory card in there that has two corrupted files on it that i cant even remove because she wouldn't test it for me. id advise anyone going into that store early in the day time when she is there. other than that the other employees are super nice and they games in there are for the most...
