Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Opelika

I'm a huge fan of Tropical Smoothie and was so happy to have one in Opelika. I have been through the drive through 3 times.

My first experience was great.

My second experience, I ordered 3 detox Island Green smoothies. It wasn't busy when I placed the order, but it took a long time to fill the order. 2 workers inside carried papertowels in the direction of the smoothie station, and later, I was presented with 3 cups of partially filled, watery, runny smoothie in messy cups. I don't know what happened. That's the product I left with. Kind of disappointing.

The 3rd time through, we ordered buffalo chicken wraps and detox Island Green smoothies. The chicken in the wraps was ice box cold. Not heated at all. I took the wraps in to request a refund. Even precooked chicken should be heated to 165 degrees. They said they'd remake the wraps. The wraps we had taken bites off of shouldn't have been opened with gloves that were continuing to be used in food prep. The guy remaking the wrap coughed and then used his gloved hand to touch the headset speaker portion in front of his mouth and proceed to finish making the wraps.

Those wraps, I just left with them and threw them into the trash. The smoothies they gave us were the regular Island Green and not the detox Island Green with ginger in them. Annoying, but whatever.

They could use a good food prep...

Very convenient location from where I work but very bad customer service 🙄. It's not the first time I've ordered online and have reached the building and no one was there although the sign says open at 7:00am. Because it's so convenient to my job location I try to make it work but this was ridiculous 😒 I ordered at 7:08am was promised my breakfast by 7:18am which was cool , I arrived at 7:15am and they still weren't open. Around 7:16am a young man with burnt orange locs showed but definitely wasn't in a hurry because he was on the phone, finally opened the door as other customers was showing up and his co worker which was another young female which is always late or eating her food and not preparing customers food and talking on her cell phone. Neither apologized for thier tardiness or anything they walked around for a while turning on lights etc playing on thier phones and I finally recieved my order at 7:32 am. If a place of business is suppose to open at a certain time we as consumers should expect it to be open but I guess this isn't the case at...

I love this place! I eat here 2+ times a week and I have not been disappointed in quality of ingredients or taste.The smoothies, bowls, and sandwiches are always fresh and well made, They are little pricy but well worth it. **Update: now I see why so many negative reviews here is my experience from today: Did not receive PB PROTEIN CRUNCH with my order and was NOT told they were out plus I did not get a refund instead I had to contact Door dash for a partial credit. Then paid for another one to be delivered only to get a call from the second doordash er telling me they were out of PB PB PROTEIN CRUNCH so I ended up having to get something else that cost less. In total I spent $20 a bowl that wasn't even my first choice.🤬 Very disappointed this time you! I order from here 2-3 times a week and not sure if I will continue wasting my money.
