I had a terrible experience with Valvoline Instant Oil Change at 3045 Pepperell Parkway in Opelika, AL.
I took my 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid in for a routine oil change on July 8, 2025. Not long after I got back on the road, I heard a horrendous noise from under the car while driving on the highway. I pulled over and found that the engine shield had dropped and was scraping against the road — it had not been reattached properly during the oil change.
The car was undrivable and had to be towed. A Honda dealership confirmed the issue was caused by missing or improperly secured tab screws, and I had to pay $328.30 to replace the lower engine cover.
I filed a Customer Care Claim with Valvoline, submitted the dealership repair invoice, and provided photos. Despite acknowledging the mistake, the manager, Dylan Eigenhuis, only offered $61.99 toward a non-OEM part. I asked to speak to his supervisor, “Adam,” but Dylan refused to give me Adam’s last name or contact info.
Valvoline caused the damage, and I submitted everything they requested, but they still refused to take full responsibility. Extremely disappointed in their service and the lack of professionalism in how the claim was handled. I won’t be back — and I wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreThis was my First time going to Valvoline. It was the most amazing and happiest and fulfilling experience I have ever had. I cannot say enough good about the employees there they were above over and beyond kind and smiling, and telling me every single detail of what they were doing gave me discounts to help me be able to afford to get and have done what needed to be gotten and needed to be done. I highly highly highly recommend for anyone needing a true professional experience, very affordable and on top of it all very fast and you never have to get out of your car just go. You will not regret it. This is the one in front of Opelika Walmart on Pepperell Parkway. Thank you Dylan and Terrance for an amazing, timely and happy 1st time experience with this...
Read moreA very hard sell location. I came by the store on the previous day and asked for specific costs of the oil. Was given $56 - $91. Came back the next day and was told the $56 wasn’t available for my car but they would match the $76 oil change with a $20 credit. Paid but they actually forgot to apply the $20 credit. From there I was told they could actually reverse the charge but I was welcome to start a claim with Valvoline on a business day to try and get the money back. However the work specially said it was unlikely because “Valvoline is pretty stingy with their money”....
