I've worked in retail for 10 years at both Best Buy and Target so I know when I'm treated right at a place of business. With that said I knew that after shopping here I would be writing this review based on how painless my visit was. My experience with this Game X Change started with a phone call on a Saturday to the store around the afternoon. I spoke with Casey who confirmed he had a whole Rock Band 4 set for Xbox One in stock which included the guitar, drums, mic, and game. The total would be about $160 for this after tax. Good value considering at the time this stuff is overpriced online. Casey even offered to hold it for me and I picked it up within an hour.
When I got to the store the checkout process was smooth and everyone there was friendly and inviting. What really set this experience apart from any average visit to a typical game store was how knowledgable Casey was. Also, he didn't try to push other products or services onto me. BIG PLUS. Since I was picking up a bunch of plastic instruments, this would have been hard to carry myself. Casey offered to help me carry everything to my car. That's what you call customer service. Being thoughtful and making me feel like my business is appreciated.
I'm also amazed at the return/exchange policy. A 24 hour window for a complete return. Also, 90 days for exchanges if something goes wrong. WOW. Luckily, everything worked when I got home, so no issues there. I normally purchase most of my Xbox games digitally, but this company is making purchasing physical games fun again. Read moreWorst experience ever! When I arrived the three dudes were putting on some cartoon on the TV, completely ignoring me! I had inquired about a game on the phone (at a different store, but they guaranteed me that all stores were the same) and when I got to the store in Orange, CT they denied the information I had received, the trip was a complete waste of time and gas money!!! I did buy some used Game Boy cartridges but the big guy with the beard overcharged me (he charged me twice for the same game) and couldn’t even say sorry to my face (the other guy then apologized twice). To receive an instant refund, I had to accept store credit that made me spend some additional buckaroos. And on my way out the big guy with a beard didn’t even say goodbye.
