I have been going to savers for years. Today I had an encounter with a young lady who I assume was a team lead or supervisor. I was there Sunday Feb 20 at 12:25 pm. I wanted to exchange a set of 3 spring pans still in the package, as the inside price was $3.99 New at the Christmas Tree shop, and Savers found it necessary to charge $5.99 for the item. To say I was a bit disappointed has become more the norm than the exception here as of late. The young person who came over to tell me I could not exchange anything except clothing or shoes. I was unaware of such, and she pointed it out on the receipt that says just that. Not an "I'm sorry or polite "unfortunately" Just not friendly as all. I have never seen this gal before. I also went online and there exchange policy states that you may return clothing and shoes and small appliances on occasion. I also watched this same young person keep her back to a customer, while he was trying to understand the exchange policy as well. She was rude and inconsiderate, and didn't even turn her back to face him not even once. The customer stormed off upset. Lastly the store should be ashamed of themselves calling it a Thrift store and a For Profit to boot by Jacking up the prices in the last year, and taking out the fitting rooms only ensures that most will be stuck spending their money on something weather it fits or not..... A very thought out and strategic...
Read moreVery rude and unfriendly staff that will closely watch over specific customers checking out at the self checkout station as if they were stealing (the registers are very rarely open). Extremely overpriced selection that keeps getting worse and worse throughout the many years of going here. I rarely find anything nowadays for myself or my family. I’ve seen prices for clearly used items cost more than a brand new item, jackets with the fiber and material coming out - left out on the racks for $30. Dollar Tree items I’ve seen across the street for $1.25 for extreme markups here, and it seems like that’s a common issue with this store. The items behind the counter are a complete joke and don’t match up with thrift store prices. I saw a visibly worn fur coat behind the counter for $400 once, I come back next month and it’s still there. Does management not realize that this is a thrift store, not a consignment shop? They get all their inventory for free. I tried returning my item once and the manager acted as if I wasn’t there and then proceeded to give me an attitude and say that they don’t have accept returns. There’s also no fitting rooms so if you do manage to find something, be prepared to try it on in a middle of an aisle. Never a good experience going here, very uncomfortable experience every time. Save yourself the gas and the visit. Would...
Read moreSavers offers both new and mostly pre-owned clothing, accessories, shoes, housewares, bed & bath, books, electronics and more which they typically purchase from non-profits and charities. They are providing a service by purchasing these charitable donations from a variety of organizations and "recycling" them to the public at very reasonable prices.
Join the "Super Savers Club" at their website and get email pre-notifications whenever sales are planned which are most often on and around our federal holidays and most often include 50% off marked prices. Also, unlike many other retailers, Savers does not mark-up their merch when then run a 50% off sale, they truly give you 50% off their already very reasonable prices.
I picked up a beautiful suede jacket which appeared brand new, originally marked at $20 for only $10 at their Columbus Day sale and a stylish hound’s tooth blazer with the original tags still attached for $10 during their Veterans Day sale.
Naturally, it's all about timing at "thrift" shops like Savers, but if you’re going during a sale, get their early (usually 10 AM opening time) while the selection is still great, and don't forget to bring some patience as the checkout lines can get quite long!
They accept cash, MC and Visa and all sales discounts are applied immediately at...
