Ocean State Job Lot — Local services in Orange

My first time in a job lot. I gotta say, I'm a fan! Wow, they have everything. I was specifically in need of heavy stone or concrete garden pots. I went to home depot, not great selection. The lady there told me to try this place. Even though milford is closer to me, a friend said this orange location was worth the trip, so off I went. Not only did they have my pots, they were at great prices, and had a large selection. Then i waddled through all the aisles, picked up some tooth brushes, exercise items, spices, huge bag of craisins. It was great. So much more I could have gotten and wanted to get, but practicing minimalism forbids me to. 10 years ago I would have cleaned up!!! Huge parking lot. Plenty of carriages for the crowd there. The place was fairly clean, fairly organized. Not the best signage, but it enough that you the gist of what area you are in. There's a nice pet section, but seemed to be mostly for dogs. I called the Orange Job Lot to see if some window shades were available in stock. I spoke to Marlon. He not only checked each shade in store, but since the size I needed was unavailable, he offered to call the Milford store to see what was in stock there and, if so, put the items I needed at the front desk to be saved for me--which they were. Marlon went WAY out of way for me and couldn't have been more pleasant and accommodating. In this day and age, it's difficult to find a customer service employee who would go to such great lengths to help a customer. I ADORE this place! I just moved here, never heard of Ocean State Job Lot. My cousin mentioned it, I went. Let me say, she LOVES to shop. I do not. But once I walked into OSJL I was in love! I was (and am still) amazed at the variety of things they sell. The quality is good, and the prices are, IMHO, unbelievable. Do they have stiletto heels? No. Then again, who's wearing them now? However, they have warm weather clothing, sketch pads for artists AND pet food that has great ratings. (Although I'm not keen on the kangaroo food)! Who else has this??
