KAY Jewelers — Local services in Orangeburg

My experience at this store in December 2017 was very hurtful and disappointing after being a customer since 2013. I purchased an anniversary ring in 2013, first using a bank card bearing both my husband's name and mine for a $400 down payment. I since opened a credit account bearing my name only and is the only person who make charges and purchases on this account at this store. In March 2017, my husband visited this store for the first time and made a small purchase for approx. $65 using a debit card bearing his name only. I took my ring into the store for a repair and was told that there was no record indicating that I purchased the ring from this store. I no longer had a copy of the receipt, but I new it should have been in their system as my other purchase were. Key Jewelers is the only store I purchase my jewelry from and I shared this with certainty. This was the first of numerous errors that Demetrius, the manager revealed to me about my ring along with his continuous hurtful and disrespectful comments and insinuendoes toward me in the presence of other customers. I took my watch to Kay jewelers in Orangeburg SC for a battery replacement. The worker took the watch in the back, after a few minutes she came out and said it's not the battery, she said she tried 4 different batteries and it wouldn't work. She said it must be a problem inside the watch and could send to there watch repair shop. I said ok but let me know the cost before fixing it. About two weeks later they said it would cost a little over $260. I said no and return the watch to me. A few days later I picked up my watch. I took it to another jeweler for a second opinion, they put a battery in it and it worked. I went back to Kay jewelers, they did'nt understand why I was mad. I said you were going to rip me off $260. for a battery. She kept saying she was happy I got a battery for $15. she also said she would never open 4 different battery packages. I walked into Kay jewelers today in Orangeburg and the two young ladies that was sitting up front barely spoke. Kayla was sitting at one of the showcase counter was able to help me pick out a bracelet for my birthday. One of the young ladies up front appeared to be watching a movie or a video on her phone and the other young lady must’ve been sleep. For some reason when I went to check out the pad for signing your receipt was not working and I made answer “ that’s not working either?” It’s sad to be on the clock collecting money and slacking on the job.
