Woodville Surplus — Local services in Oregon

This from a friend on FaceBook 12-10-13: Today I decided to update my work wardrobe, hubby needed some new work clothes as well. I went to Woodville Surplus. While shopping I heard this man verbally abusing an employee on the sales floor in front of everyone. I asked another employee who the manager was, the employee replied " that would be the one who you hear yelling over there, he is the owner". I could not believe that this man the owner ( Mike) would belittle, humiliate his employee on the sales floor in front of the customers. When he was finished with the verbal abuse I approached him and asked him are you the manager? He said, " yes you can call me that". I then told Mike that I felt it was inappropriate to yell at his staff in front of the customers. He stated as he walked away he did not care what I thought. I then said I have a half a mind to put all this merchandise back. (I was holding about $200.00 worth of scrubs) Not even a minute later this man (the owner) came up behind me and grabbed the merchandise from my hands as he was yelling at me," you don't know what your talking about You don't even know what you are doing"! I feel so terrible that his employee had to put up with such abuse. If he can treat a customer that way for sticking up for the sales clerk can you imagine the daily abuse and harassment his employees must incur on a daily basis . So I'm asking all my FB friends to boycott Woodville Surplus. Please Share and repost to your friends. No one deserves to work under those conditions!!!!!!! This place has been in business for a ton of years and has an overall 4.5 star review. The sad part is is how many bad reviews this place has based on their customer service and rude employees. I came in today to return a brand new pair of boots that they could say nothing wrong with because they were absolutely brand new and the lady was just flat out rude and in desperate need of customer service training. You would think I stole the boots and was trying to bring them back. Instead of calling people that leave bad reviews snowflakes and clowns maybe you'd be better served spending the time on yourself and your employees learning great customer service. You do have some very good employees and I commend that but it seems that it is not necessarily encouraged. I could have easily went on Amazon and got these boots for less, which in fact they were $30 less but I want to support local businesses. Almost every single thing you guys sell can be bought online and very easily returned most specifically through Amazon so if you want to survive another 50 or 60 years you're going to have to beat them with customer service because price and other things won't do it anymore. The only reason to shop a ma and Pa store these days is simply over customer service and nothing else. This is my go to place, the guys at towers are all good guys but the prices are a bit high. These guys are honest and they are very reasonable with there prices, especially there ammo when they have it. I have purchased 3 rifles from them and the gentleman with the glassess has steered me right everytime being thay i am new to rifles. The answer all my questions and all in all make sure i am satisfied. I HIGHLY recommend this place for all you gun and tactical needs.
