Big Apple Deli — Restaurant in Oregon

I ordered two Reubens with extra 1000 island on the side to be picked up before I went to work. It was my first experience with Big Apple and overall a really good one! I placed the order about an hour early via phone and the lady was polite and nailed the order. It was ready as I was walking in aka hot and fresh. The line moved quickly and the price was actually cheaper than what the menu said. Why I'm not sure. I was also surprised by the sandwich combinations and items available. If I was a more adventurous eater the sky would be the limit. The Reubens came very hot and exactly as ordered with extra sauce on the side. Nicely packaged in thick deli paper so the bag wasn't soggy. I had a 15 min drive to work after picking up the piping hot sandwiches and my only complaint is I waited to long to eat mine. The bread was a little soggy on the bottom due to the condiment and giant stack of meat juices that soaked in. Now is that really the worst thing in the world? Absolutely not. 5 stars. I'm an east sider born and raised and somehow this gem flew under my radar until recently. But then I heard they had the best pastrami in the city. To which I immediately said... "in this city??? Is pastrami something we're known for???" But then that was followed immediately with "I do love pastrami. :-)" And they deliver. Both on the expectation and legit delivery. They cater. :-) Excellent selection of all your classic deli foods. All the meats and salads and cheese and pickles you expect from a good deli. I've had worse. Oooh, and, deviled eggs. :-D yeah! They don't really have any gluten free options except the pre-made in the morning chef salad, but that was still really really good. I wish they had more options though. It was the freshest salad I have ever had though, even vs my home made ones!!! It was so crisp and delicious and they even give you a hard boiled egg! My favorite!! Any salad with egg goes on my love list 😋 the way they make their salad is different too, if you like small pieces you gotta cut your ingredients yourself but I love it because of celiac, I'd rater cut my own than risk contamination. I was very satisfied with their salad and I'd go back again just for that...
