We never expected to write something like this. We lived on the beach side of Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. When the Palisades Fire hit, it moved with a speed that felt unreal. Mandatory evacuation came, and we grabbed a few essentials and our beloved cat. By the time the sun came up, so many homes and Malibu landmarks were reduced to embers. Our house of 30-plus years was gone. Everything we had spent a lifetime collecting was destroyed. Family photographs, heirlooms, art, books, and our custom safe were all reduced to ash and rubble. You tell yourself “it’s just stuff,” and that is true… until you realize some “stuff” was your history.
Here is what we did not expect. Fort Knox did not wait for a marketing moment or put us through a claims maze. When we reached out, they really listened to what we lost. Then they did something simple and huge. They arranged a replacement safe and handled the logistics while we were still living out of bags and working through insurance claims, temporary housing, and lists of what we remembered owning. It is exhausting. You hope that the companies you trusted will treat you fairly. Fort Knox did much more than that. They treated us with respect, patience, and genuine thoughtfulness.
Fort Knox honored their fire warranty without hesitation. No delay. More importantly, they went above the minimum requirement. They guided us through every step and made the process feel easy during a time when not much else was. Our replacement safe arrived fully customized. The exterior paint color we wanted, the interior shelving built to fit our needs, a dehumidifier, and a solid design throughout. Their craftsmanship is exceptional and their customer support is real.
There are many safe companies, but this experience showed us what makes Fort Knox different. Anyone can sell a metal box with a lock, but after speaking with others who went through this fire, it seems not many companies will step forward after a disaster and deliver the same level of care, and integrity as Fort Knox did.
To anyone comparing brands, take this to heart. A safe is more than steel and a fire rating. It is a promise. Fort Knox kept that promise when our home was lost. They did not just replace a product. They helped us rebuild a sense of security, something you cannot measure in cubic feet or steel gauge thickness.
We absolutely believe you can trust this company. They stood behind us with professionalism when it mattered most.
To the team at Fort Knox, thank you for being there for us during such a challenging time. We truly appreciate your customer service and follow through.

Read moreI enjoyed welding here at fort knot, I’m well aware of the importance of welding the safes together to make our quality great. Best believe some guys don’t weld good. You start off by getting the back shell & top/bottom of the safes, then square it to weld, than add sheet rock, some safes have another sheet of metal to install inside after you put the sheet rock. Then add door. Steve is supervisor of the welding department & Bill is bondo/sanding/painting department . When I was here I started with bondo then moved to welding. I had fun since I knew a bunch of people here, I did good work from how I was taught, some guys didn’t care. Only wish I did better. Supervisor just walks around to see if ur working. They give you ur own booth which is nice. Tools are given for the work, little bit stingy with grinding disc. I wish a mask was give to me since air quality isn’t that good for ur lungs.. Lunch is 30min. 6am-4:30pm sometimes 1hr early morning. They have a little party event every year which the gifts aren’t that good for the work we put in. Food was good. Yeah working here was alright for the pay. I didn’t live that far so...
Read moreI bought a $6000+ vault door. Love the look, but we put frog tape on the door for a day or two to paint the walls, took it off and it peeled the paint off. When we contacted the company they said we could un install the door and send it back to them and they would fix it on OUR dollar or we could buy touch up paint from them for $3.99 plus $2 shipping and do it ourselves. That’s absolutely ridiculous to put that much into a safe door and then have to pay for a fix that should never occur on a $6000 door. I’m a business owner myself, but you don’t have to be one to recognize that their customer service is absolutely horrible. I recommend you look elsewhere for a safe door. I will never purchase from them again or recommend them to anyone, all based on how they responded to $3.99 plus shipping on touch up paint, especially when it was probably their own garbage paint. Super frustrating. Seriously, do not purchase from...
