Culver’s - The gold standard of being cheapskates. Culver’s at one point and time was an incredible place to eat. Made phenomenal burgers, attentive staff, and was clean. I genuinely used to enjoy coming here, however in recent years Culver’s has exposed their true priorities… (spoiler, it’s not the customer!) I’ve come to the Orem location several times in the past month and prior to me diving into details here I will say this is the worst location I’ve had the displeasure of eating at. Let’s breakdown my observations.. First and foremost let’s clear up the lies and deception plastered on the walls from floor to ceiling within this establishment. The following phrase is emblazoned across their back wall: “EVERY GUEST WHO VISITS CULVER'S.... LEAVES HAPPY” Now…I used to agree with this! But where Culver’s has really cut me below the knees is when they decided to enter their prohibition era with Fry Sauce. At one point in time I as a well paying customer could wander to the condiment table and top up a few cups of fry sauce for my cheese curds.. it was incredible, the combo was undefeated and I coveted that…There have been times in life I’d drive across multiple cities for the fry sauce and curd combo without hesitation. The penny pinching greedy corporate overlords have reared their ugly heads and not only removed fry sauce from the self-serve condiment bar and now gatekeep it behind the counter….but here’s the real kicker- these buffoons now do not give you ANY fry sauce included with your order. I was taken back yesterday when I placed a $30+ order including two orders of curds and not a single fry sauce came included with my meal. All fry sauce comes at a cost… this was incredible. An option that used to come free of charge with your meal and was completely self-service has been eliminated entirely. So let’s zoom out - Culver’s has been increasing the cost of their menu items year over year while simultaneously removing perks and condiment options for customers. Doesn’t sound like customer oriented values to me 🤷🏼‍♀️ Want to know who wouldn’t do this to me? Costco. Y’all seen those unwavering hot dog prices? Yall see that full stocked self-service condiment bar when you walk by the food court? Yeah me too. Same economy yet Culver’s acts like this is the Great Depression. Fry Sauce was born in Utah, yet Culver’s somehow has the audacity to insult the entire community with this change. I’ll never set foot in a Culver’s again purely on the principle. I will be sharing my experience with every friend and family member throughout the state and will also encourage them to boycott this marxist corporation. I had salt rubbed in my wounds as I left the establishment yesterday and also saw this sign: “Folks have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of cheese curds.” A sign that I once identified with but now slandered by their own choice to stiff their entire customer base. Culver’s Marketing Team: I’ve made several edits to the slogans on your walls which I have attached here. Perhaps this reflects a more accurate representation of your business? Let me know what you think! Beyond my feelings with their fry sauce policy I’ve had multiple orders completely botched by the Orem location, dry, overcooked, and rushed. There is always massive lines, staff is unprofessional, and I rarely get the quality I expect. This location is extremely poor.

We generally enjoy going to Culver’s in Orem. I love their chicken tenders and that they offer Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, and the custard is always a treat. Another plus is they stay open later and this is awesome when my friends and I want to grab a bite after hanging out. However, our experience last night was a bit of a letdown. Despite the place not being overly busy and having what seemed like a decent-sized staff on board, we found ourselves waiting far longer than usual for our food. We noticed a few staff members just standing around, and two other customers had already come up to the counter to ask about their orders, both having waited over 30 minutes. Unfortunately, we experienced the same issue and eventually had to go up to the counter ourselves to get our food. I get that things can happen, but it felt like service quality wasn’t a priority, and that’s a bit disappointing. Maybe I’m old-fashioned in expecting timely, attentive service, but it’s frustrating when something so simple gets overlooked.

While currently living in Utah, I’m from Illinois and have spent a large portion of my life in Wisconsin, including working on a dairy farm and having family connections to cheese factories. Culver’s was always a big staple in my life growing up, so I’ve been very happy to see them growing in Utah. Culver’s heavily relies on supply chain management, as a large percentage of their ingredients come straight from Wisconsin. I was pleasantly surprised by how similar in quality the burgers were to locations in or near Wisconsin. The cheese curds were decent, although I’ve had far better from other locations (the best ones should be hot and have the cheese stretch when you pull them apart).

Culver's is great. That's just the way it is. This location is no exception. Update 9/23/18 Removing 2 stars due to repeated disappointments.

We love Culver’s, but keep being disappointed. The best thing about Culver’s, that which really sets them apart from other fast food joints, is the custard.

I purchased one of my favorites a few weeks ago (snickers swirl), took it home and found so few toppings inside it was basically just eating a pint of twist custard. Still good, but not what it should have been. So, I chopped up a snickers and added it myself. I figured this was a one-time thing.

Next time, I only had time for the drive through, so I asked for a flavor-of-the-day pint to be mixed then as opposed to being grabbed from the freezer. I mentioned the previous disappointment, and asked to please make sure that it had adequate toppings mixed in. The employee said he would make sure. But, I got a pint obviously pulled from the freezer (it had some ice/ freezer burn on top) with barely any toppings mixed in, again.

Ok, let’s try something else. The next visit, I went inside and opened the pints to make sure that I bought one with the toppings mixed in. After going through a few I found one that looked good. I took it home, It was. Finally, I got one that looked like the picture and it was great.

Problem solved right? I just need to check to make sure that there are actually toppings mixed in. Can do.

Last time, I took the time to check each pint for adequate the toppings when I bought the 4 for 10.99 party pack. They all looked good. Unfortunately, they were not. At home we found that our custard’s toppings were just that, toppings. After a thin top layer of delicious flavor-of-the-day we had almost full pints of plain custard.

We realize that custard is thicker than soft-serve and harder to mix, but we really need you guys to make it happen. I worked at Culver’s in WI when I was 16 and we always took pride in our food prep and especially our desserts. The fact is, Culvers is better than the other fast food options. No offense to them, that’s just a fact. The quality of the food/ingredients are better. But, Culver’s can’t ride on quality of ingredients alone. The customers need to be able to rely on consistency of service and preparation or they will stop coming.

I only go out to eat dairy desserts occasionally. When I do, I hope for them to be great. I don’t want to end up getting McFlurries instead of Culver’s custard just because they have a machine that can mix in/ add the right amount of ingredients each time. Culvers is better than that.

TL;DR

Most of the time when we buy pints of flavor-of-the-day custard from the Orem location there have been close to no toppings mixed in. Please fix this problem, because your custard is the best and shouldn’t be a...

I've eaten at several Culver's locations numerous times. It's generally a solid experience. The one time I visited this location a few weeks ago, it was far from the experience I'm accustomed. My burger was cold, made incorrectly, and the patties were stale tasting. My son's burger was similar insofar as the preparation is concerned. I ordered two servings of onion rings and those, too, were cold. They also tasted like they were made in oil that needed to be swapped. We also had a curd order which also tasted pretty terrible. The food was basically inedible. In fact, we just tossed all of our food virtually uneaten in the trash. We were in a hurry, so we went someplace else. This is probably one of the only times in my life that I just tossed food uneaten. Finally, the tables were in disarray and unclean, and condiments were missing. It was like 7pm, so several hours before closing. While I realize that my experience at this location isn't indicative of the quality and experience at other locations, I have since reeled at the idea of eating at any Culver's restaurant. And to give you an idea of just how bad my experience was, you'll see that I rarely leave negative feedback (if you look at my...
