I don't know where or how to start. I a disabled veteran, and I feel like I have been overlooked, dismissed and uncared for. I failed the driving test 3 times, twice at the hands of their "head instructor". I get that I didn't do everything right, which ultimately resulted in a fail. What I am talking about is the apathy shown byMr. Reid. Two weeks ago, he told me that we had to reschedule, after missing two prior appointments, one, die to cold weather, the next due to lack of staff. Here I sit, two weeks later, with no appointment, having heard nothing from him or MTEC. I am very disappointed in how they treated me. I'm a senior now, And I was trying to resume working after back surgery. Instead I get to find a way to pay for a private tester. I have no fear of that. But I will not be recommending MTEC to anyone, and will let the VA and voc rehabilitation the truth about MTEC's...
Read moreMATC's Welding program is complete joke. You will learn more in 1 week on the job than you will the whole welding course. They also give you extremely unrealistic numbers for how much you can make welding. They ALL say 100k+, in reality you'll be lucky to see that without working 60+hrs a week in a mine. Teachers as of a few years ago are completely incompetent, and can't demonstrate how to properly weld because they don't know how to apply their weld knowledge.. And good luck actually getting help..For example I had problems with my tig settings for 3 1/2 weeks, and finally I was able to get one of them to come over to my weld booth.. turns out they had given me the wrong weld settings 3 1/2 weeks prior when I started my tig course.. This program is great if you just need a place to teach yourself to weld, but you might as...
Read moreBe aware that in general trucker schools take in too many people, take their money, give them little practice time & push them out the door when they can't master driving in a few days. Next, of course they won't let them take the driving test even if they passed the written part. It's happening all over the country. MTech is not the worst offender, they are supposed to be better about this than some schools, but nevertheless, buyer beware. They were kind enough to grant me a refund, but I am told that is not the rule and I also had to submit a petition. I think the instructors made an attempt to be fair about everything, but in my opinion there still there was not enough hours behind the wheel for maximizing safety and securing that the regular student will pass with...
