I think this place is really amazing and I can't wait to use them in the future. However, for a potential new client, the process of having your dog stay for the first time is tedious, and the communication is poor.
To show proof of vaccination, I emailed a copy of my puppy's FDA document because he had a new vet different from the one on the document. His new vet was only able to provide a record of what was done for him at his vet office, as well as confirm that he was up to date on vaccines. I was not able to board him on the day I needed because I had to contact the vet that was on his FDA document to provide a record that his vaccines was administered with them, even though the FDA documents listed the exact same vaccines and the vets did not understand what further proof of vaccination Bark Nona needed.
I ended up using a different boarding service that stated the FDA document, along with the letter from his current vet, was proof of vaccination. They seemed to think the FDA document was fine because he was a new puppy and received his vaccinations listed on the document this year.
I think they should consider FDA documents as proof of vaccination for puppies. I understand why this would not be ok for older dogs. If they could work on responding within 48 hours, it would have helped someone in my situation not have to scramble to find another dog hotel at the last minute. Especially since I created his reservation a week in advance. I also contacted them multiple times to try to set up the temperament test, but they did not call back until two days before his stay. This did give me time to see the services and...
Read moreI am that dog mom. I am crazy obsessed with my perfect Weim girl, and there is no doggy day care/boarding facility I trust more than Barknona. First, and probably most importantly, there is my dog’s reaction to Barknona. She waits at our door eagerly every morning to go to daycare, and jumps and runs out of the car to Barknona like I might hit a Target sale. Every. Single. Morning. (And we are going on 2.5 years!) Once inside, she is so happy, and extra wiggly, to greet every one who works there. Now, my baby is not a golden or other wonderfully good natured breed who would show this level of excitement no matter what; my girl is wary and discerning, and downright bougie, so her reactions say a lot about the facility and the amazing humans working there. I couldn’t be more appreciative of our Barknona family. The love they show our girl and our family is incredible. If I’m missing my girl (and I am…constantly) or worried about her, for even the silliest of reasons (this also happens all the time) they are enormously patient with me and they go above and beyond to help me relax. I quite literally trust each and every employee with her life. Don’t get me started on the extras! The holiday events! The movie parties! The birthday parties! Barknona is the very best of Lake Nona and the...
Read moreI sent my 2 chihuahuas here for day care in hopes they would have some fun with other dogs and with the employees. My only problem with this company was not being able to see the room where my 2 small dogs would be staying when they were inside. They do rotate the rooms where the small and large dogs hang out, but not being able to see one of the rooms my dogs are in when I'm visiting the place in person or on cameras is just too uncomfortable. I know not seeing it when visiting in person had something to do with the room being in the back by the offices. However, not having a camera is just too much when all the other areas have cameras. I did watch them when they were outside and the employees were very nice, patient and gentle with them. There really isn't much for the dogs to play with so if they were not running after eachother they just looked bored pacing or sleeping. Of course many were playing (chasing) eachother. My dog was running around so much with the other dogs he fell asleep as soon as he got in the car. The place is very clean and the staff is nice. They do seem well staffed so the dogs should be well supervised at all times. The employees don't really play with them. I did see a few that went out of their way to interact...
